You have made some great changes I like how you've got Donners and Lesters name at the end in the S2 style font. Id probably take out the sequence where he blocks the river, the miniatures are bad. Id cut around it and use more of the earthquake stuff.

Hush ollie, lol. Nah we want to see the Lego stuff moreso (laughs). The miniatures here are far superior to today's CGI in way too many movies! Lets honor Derek Meddings please and not trash him while he's deceased!

Getting the "And...." listing at the end of the cast list, as Stamp did, is a sign you are a huge actor and it's an honour for the film-makers to have you on board. Russell Crowe gets the same in Man Of Steel, as did Patrick Stewart in X Men 3.

I look at it almost like a music video even before there were music videos lol. Sometimes the timing of the music is perfectly synched with what we're seeing. And don't forget, this recap opening set the standard for any and all comic book movies that have done it since!!

I'd have put Reeve's name before Hackman's, personally, since he was a star, by that point, off the success of the first film. And I would've had Lester's name zoom in under and right after Donner's, to indicate visually his work came AFTER Donner's and is supplementary to his on the film. (And I would've added Lester's name on the producer slot, since he was an uncredited producer on the Donner portions from June '77 onwards, but that's just me.)

I also saw some of the effort you put into remastering the two extended scenes from “Superman IV.” If your edit of that film is available, what would you title it? I would go with something straightforward like “Superman IV: Restored International Cut.”

I hope that for the final product that Ken Thorne’s score is presented using the restored masters from the “Superman: The Music” boxed set. I really hated the way his score was mixed in the finished film. It sounded like it was muddied up. The 2007 boxed set finally presents the score the way it was intended.

That's a very big ask. I have no idea if it's even possible to replicate the 5.1 audio without individual stems of the remastered recordings. If you listen to the L,R and C channels separately you can hear the separation of the instruments. To recreate that from just stereo elements and then still have to add back in all the sound effects is likely more trouble than it's worth.

It's just alphabetical order after Reeve. Brando and Hackman get top billing as they did for Superman the Movie. It was the addition of Brando that meant I needed to redo all the credits up to Valerie Perrine to keep them alphabetised,

The order of the cast listing is really ineresting, I mean Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman get higher billing than Christopher Reeve. And Sarah Douglas gets higher billing than Margot Kidder let alone Terrence Stamp geting stuck right near the back end of the cast list. I mean I know it's sort've about who is the bigger name, but there's also the matter of representing the Characters they play. After all. Ursa is only a sidekick of General Zodd and Jorell is hardly in the movie at all!

It seems a little odd that they felt the need to recap the whole first movie in the opening titles of the sequel. It's sort've like they're assuming no one went to see Superman The Movie, as it was billed at the time. I thought it was one of the biggest box ofice hits of the time?

Mongo Boogie don’t forget about the gap in between the release of the two films. “Superman: The Movie” premiered in December of 1978. “Superman II” opened in Europe in 1980 and the rest of the world a year later. That’s a 2-3 year gap. Even though the last credit at the end of the first film said: Next Year: “Superman II” it would be 2-3 years before the second film would be released.

Mongo Boogie it’s true that both films were filmed for the most part simultaneously. Richard Donner had actually finished filming almost 80% of his shooting script for “Superman II” when he had to put it on hold to make the release date of the first film. Unfortunately, the producers gave him the boot from “Superman II.”

Richard Lester stated that the Superman II opening credits montage was intended to be a reminder for the audience of what had happened in the first film, given the 2 year gap between movies. It wasn't intended for viewers who had never seen Superman The Movie.

@@Ashworth6 that makes sense. It was a recap of what happened last time, in case some audience members missed seeing the first film. The first film would actually be shown on network TV in 1982 on ABC. However, it was extended to a runtime of 188 minutes, which led to it being shown over a two-night period in February of 1982.
