Superior Silent Switches? Invokeys Nightshade (LICHICX) review!

Ғылым және технология

LICHICX silents have been highly recommended by the regulars over at the switchmodders discord channel, and I had to give them a try! While I"m not entirely sold on their superiority over the Haimu silents, they are an insanely smooth and silent switch with no squish! Check them out at the link below!

for those that cant find haimu heartbeat linears in stock, wuque silent linears are re-colours of the switch. Thanks to you they are my absolute favourite switch. I bought some after seeing your video, and i just got 300+ on a black friday sale lol.

The Haimu Geon Silent Reds are essentially the same switch as well. Of the three, I would still pick heartbeats as the best.

appreciate the content! I bought some Boba U4S switches years ago, and haven’t really bought silents since then. I feel like if I were to buy more, the heartbeats seem like an easy choice, great to see the comparisons here.

Boba U4 still holds well BTW. Sound, tactility, and feel... all fine. You may be surprised to find new switches to be worse. But yeah, these LICHICX switches are impressive and remind me of Topre switches which I've used for a few years in my Novatouch keyboard and modded with silencing rings.

3:09 If I remember correctly, the bottoming out is between bottom housing's center mast and the underside of the stem. The dampening is provided by the silicon pad in the stem, which is accessible from below.

These are beautiful! I like the slightly lower pitch of the (very quiet) nightshades. Now I want to find out if they have a tactile option, and the grams of typing pressure those require!

I have always liked silent switches, not because I need them to be quiet, but because I prefer a softer bottom out. This sound absolutely perfect in that it brings a comfy bottom out without being mushy. I just order them, and I'm really excited to try them out! My go to right out is the Gateron 0 degree switch, so hopefully these are even better!

Great video! I actually picked up Haimu Heartbeat linears after watching your video on those when it launched, as I always wanted to try a silent switch but was afraid of the rubber/silicone becoming sticky after lubing. Was wondering what switch puller was that? Looks awesome!

My favorite manufacturer of silent switches is... Outemu! Silent cream yellows are by far my favorite silent switch and i have tried a lot of them. Basically soundless downstroke but a nice low pitch thud on the upstroke. They however do need a very thorough lube job, especially on the leaves. But then again they are tactiles which is not to everyone's taste and their silent linears have a high pitch upstroke that makes any board sound like a cheap toy.

100% I am moving to cream jades(same as the yellow) from Boba u4. They feel amazing I am spring swapping to a heavier spring. So solid and nice smooth satisfying bump with a satisfying thud. Where do you recommend adding lube as I will do that when I spring swap them. Conscious not to lube the bump.

Is there possibility you can compare this with Heartbaet along with TTC Silent Frozen V2 and the Kaihl Deep Sea Silent Pro V2. From what I was and heard I would have go for Invokeys Nightshade, but for now I can get 90 switched of TTC for ~USD45.

I'm curious how these would compare to the Gamakay Phoenix switches under the same comparison/test. I'll find out first hand I guess, this video helped me pull the trigger on the Nightshades, thanks! Trying the Kailh Midnight Pros at the moment and I'm not finding them any more quiet than the Phoenix switches. I'm curious how the padding/silencers on the Midnight Pros compare with the Nightshades. If it's the same design then I guess I won't expect much of a difference. The Phoenix don't have anything like that to their design as far as I'm aware, but still manage to be super quiet.

Hi, I was that rude person, If i'm honest, I didn't know they were in the server, but we had a good discussion about that video afterward, I still stand by my conclusion, the bottom holes don't contribute to the silencing of haimus, but him actively responding to my rude feedback really did turn around my opinion of the video.

They're tactile not linear. I have them on my work board, they're okay but I am actually swapping them for outemu cream yellow/jade 5 pins and they feel much nicer, full rounded bump and have a solid thud. They're so much cheaper as well.

  • @42degrees86

They just feel a bit crunchy and sound scratchy in comparison. The outemu has a decent bump at the top with no pre travel as well, super solid feeling virtually no wobble at all whereas the Boba feels a little rattly in comparison( maybe partly to do with the sharp bump). Sorry for all the random descriptions hahaha Don't get me wrong they're still a great silent switch but like another poster on here who also is a fan of outemu creams they are just really good. I have some u4t on the way for the home board so will be interesting to compare to the u4.
