Superimposed Hybrid Scales-An Easy Method

FREE 'Rethinking Jazz Guitar' course: bit.ly/RethinkingJazzGuitar
A 'scale-free' approach to implying superimposed harmonic content!
Scales are excellent tools but can become confusing and feel creatively limiting. By avoiding scales entirely and focusing on chord tones and the chord tones of superimposed harmonies we can create 'hybrid scales' which directly outline the colours of the tonality and harmonic content.

that's an amazing way to think how to mix superimpositions with the original harmony of a piece. I definitely love your channel.

Thanks Israel, my goal is to always make things as simple as possible and avoid getting stuck or confused by too many scales. Cheers!

@@CharlesHarrisonMusicTuition Would love to see videos on the 6th diminished scales on the applications and maybe even digging for sense in the mine the of the lydian chromatic concept? Best of luck for whatever you're working on though

Would be easier to get the sound if you playback loop and give us the sounds and color over specific progression and chords. Would appreciate it

I'll think about how to do this. I currently don't really have a very easy way of recording an accompanying part. Perhaps in the future I could look into a looper pedal but for now it's just my guitar and an amp im afraid! Really appreciate the suggestion though, cheers 👍
