Superheavy Samurai | MASTER Rank Meta Replays | Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.

Ойындар

Hai. Here is my take for the SHS deck. Its different than the one i played for the Rookie to Master climb.
- Decklist is shown at the end of the video.
- Some explanations are in the pinned comment below.
The music is all original soundtracks from the Touhou game series. I just like the music, it's very cool.
Music 1 = Charming Domination.
Music 2 = Deaf to all but the Song.
Music 3 = Septette for the Dead Princess.
Music 4 = Native Faith.
Music 5 = Dolls in Pseudo Paradise ~ Reincarnation.

Some Explanations: - The endboard this deck is aiming for is Baronne + Savage + Regulus + Naturia Beast + Spright Elf. You can make this board with any of the standard one-card starters for Superheavy Samurai (wagon, soulpiercer, bike, wakaushi). I prefer this combo to the alternatives since it requires no additional bricks in the main deck, and it takes up only 2 additional spots in the extra deck. Some of the other alternative builds are: sycthe lock, dark strike fighter ftk, sanctifire, appolousa + tunneler draw 2, or calamity lock. Most of those builds require playing some amount of bricks in the main deck, which is the main reason i prefer to make a board of Nat Beast instead. The Calamity Lock build also requires 0 main deck investment, so its a pretty good option alongside this one. In most games, the full endboard isnt that important, since you will usually get stopped by handtraps. If you dont get stopped, then you most likley win regardless of which build you play, and often the opponent will surrender without even making you show the combo at all. This is why i thought it made the most sense to play a version that doesnt ever draw extra bricks for a combo that will most likely not come up. Sycthe lock is a pretty strong option, since it only plays the 1 single brick (sycthe), and the sycthe itself is not a bad draw going 1st since it just makes the lock much much easier. Scythe lock is also possible to achieve even though multiple handtraps. The problem i found with the sycthe build was that the scythe lock itself wasnt actually that good without a full board to back it up, as the opponent will often be able to play decently well with snake-eye cards even under sycthe lock. Naturia beast is very strong against branded. - Im playing just 11 starters in this list. Metalcruncher is an additional option to play for starters, however i dont like it, since it is by far the worst card for pushing through handtraps because its not a superheavy card, so the extenders can't be equipped to it. Its also not level 4. Part of the plan for superheavy samurai is to draw a lot of non-engine too, which is important even when you go 1st, so i prefer playing a smaller amount of starters, so i can try to get lucky and draw the hands that have lots of handtraps + 1 or 2 starters. - The handtraps im choosing to play are mainly intended to be good against snake-eye. Nibiru is usually weak against snake on its own, but since there is enough other handtraps in the deck to draw it alongside something else, it becomes a much better card. Crow can be used on ip masquerena when the flameberge tries to put it in the backrow. This is how the bystials are used too. Veiler and mourner are effective against Snake-Eye Ash. Theres no gamma in the deck, since its not strong enough going 1st, as it cannot back up a board once you summon a monster. You often rely on your handtraps when you go 1st, as its very easy to stop this deck from playing. - Tilting Entrainment is a way to turn any synchro 8 made with wakaushi into Masawaro for free. Bagooska is for when you are hit with maxx c or shifter. Unicorn and Accesscode are needed for followup on turn3. - 3 soulpeacemaker is because its the best extender for pushing through handtraps. Its also capable of making a baronne if you draw just the peacemaker. Its important to push through low impact handtraps like ash and imperm when you can in this deck, since you are often completely beaten by high impact ones like maxx c or droll.

I wanna play this so badly but i've sunk 11k gems into the pack and only have 1 bike and brave masawaro to show for it lmfao. Idk how imma build this out. Ig just getting core stuff by crafting and grind for dust for staples. Great games!

Hey April, I was using a branded deck loosely based on your list in the ranked ladder and randomly I encountered you using SHS, I thought for sure it was an imposter but now I know it was the real deal lmao Thanks for the video!

This is very informative! Thank you for the replays, I would like to ask if there is any play/handtrap going second to stop SHS after their Bike > Wakushi > Baronne protection combo does not turn into a Baronne. Seems like if their normal summon hasn't been used only Droll and Nibiru are the options left.

  • @AprilShowerz

most pure shs lists will use their normal summon before making baronne. droll and maxx c are the only handtraps that guarantee stopping shs. nibiru is about as good as the low impact handtraps, they both force the opponent to have extender. the way to beat shs going 2nd is to have multiple handtraps, or droll/maxx c

Hi April, thanks for the videos, i'm trying to learn SHS combos and this really helps. I have 2 questions though: 1. Can you still make the same board with wagon start? I feel like with wagon start I'm always missing the final piece to make Nat beast since I already used his effect at the beginning to search soulpiercer. 2. What happens when you open scales, what sort of end board do you get to since I'm assuming it will hurt the combo since you can't summon it off soulpeacemaker anymore. Thanks!

  • @AprilShowerz

thanks! yes, you can make the exact same board with just wagon. you can also make the exact same board with any of the starters even when you also draw scales. with wagon, the trick is to search for a 2nd copy of soulpiercer with the big benkei. Later in the combo, when you pendulum summon, instead of it being wakaushi + wagon, it will be wakasuhi + the 2nd soulpiercer. The piercer will search for the 2nd extender when its sent to the graveyard just like how wagon would have searched it in the other starter's line. When u draw scales, the trick is to discard it with scarecrows effect, then target the scales for the scarecrows effect. it will trigger to revive the soulpiercer anyway, which allows you to continue with the combo as normal, but with the extra body of scales on the field. When you use peacemaker, you can summon the 2nd soulpiercer from the deck, and then link into genius with it and the scales.

not particularly. it struggled a bit before since its going 1st play was too weak to maxx c, and its going 2nd pushes were not strong through disruption. itll be about the same.
