Some Explanations: - The branded engine is my favourite thing to do at the end of the superheavy samurai combo. It plays pretty well into droll, since it doesnt take any searching to summon verte. Snow is also a very good way to add reliability to the endboard. I dont think its the optimal combo to go for though, since it takes 3 bricks in the deck. Something like sycthe lock or calamity lock would be more competitive. Mirrorjade is very fun though :) - The snow is needed to banish branded fusion from the graveyard so that the superheavy samurai cards dont stop working. - The handtraps are format dependent. This climb was done before snake eye was released, so its missing nibiru. Nibiru is one of the better handtraps to play in the current format. Playing a lot of handtraps is important in superheavy samurai since the engine is pretty weak going 2nd, so it usually needs to draw multiple handtraps to win. - Only the usual 12 starters are worth playing. Metalcruncher and multiple peacemaker are options that are sometimes played to add extra consistency, but i dont think its worth playing them since you really want as many handtraps as possible. Even going 1st the deck is very vulnerable to maxx c and droll, so having handtraps to survive the opponents turn is important. Multiple peacemaker would be an okay option since it can play through handtraps. - Knightmare unicorn is needed to allow you to shuffle back branded fusion if you draw it. This combo happens only a couple times throughout the video, but the extra deck isnt tight, and unicorn can be a useful card in general, so its worth playing. - The soulhorns is needed to allow masawaro to attack twice for an otk. - Bagooska is the backup plan for when the opponent uses maxx c. - Zeus actually doesnt come up very often, so id cut it from future builds. - Overall, superheavy samurai is a strong deck, but i think it struggles in the higher ranks and competitive scene because of how tough it is to deal with maxx c and droll. Just wanted to say thanks. I used your method of creating a new account to make this deck, without the branded, and I'm really happy with it. d.d. crow is so nice right now. even though it's a one for a one trade, it can be so crucial stopping combos, extension or even interruption during your turn. was initially hesitant to think it wasn't valuable enough to slot in but this meta demands it

yeah against branded on brafu or albaz could be deadly, against shs on soul piercer could be nice and against snake eye hitting promethean and flamberge in the long run really hurt

That’s pretty smart, rather than Apollousa you have the branded package with Snow so you can Banish Branded Fusion and still make SHS plays. Oh you clarified that in the comment already my bad.

thats a good choice. samurai doesnt give much control to the player. its hard to outplay weaker opponents. snake eye is much more fun and better.

This deck is fire, I wanted to replace Appo and the springans with something else (deck building is not my strong suit) I might finally get past Diamond 3

Is SHS still good to use in the current meta where many people use Snake Eyes? Seeing your gameplay, I want to make an SHS deck, but still doubt whether SHS is still usable in the current meta.

its very ignorant when it goes first. it doesnt matter what opponents are playing it only matters which handtraps they play, and how many. going 2nd with shs you are just relying on handtraps to completely stop your opponent. a lot of players dont play droll anymore, so shs can be pretty sneaky.

snake eye is probably the best deck alongside branded. I like its playstyle a lot and i intend to put a lot of time into mastering it :)

@@AprilShowerz on a competitive scale I agree because it dies to one card and has a harder way playing into the best card in the format, it's also easier to side against it once you know you're playing against it. On a ranked basis I desagree not because I think it's too good but because it just makes no sense to let pseudo FTKs live in a best of one

I find it hard to believe you had these many poor players putting that weak board up for turn 1 back to back. With no handtrap interrupting or staple cards. Was this streamed or just edited.

im sorry but its not streamed. to be honest, its not just believable, its also hardly even impressive. Beating the low ranks for free is just expected. The deck struggled a bit once it began facing proper decks and more skilled players. Still, it makes that it wouldnt be too much trouble to get to master 1, it never really is.

the verte build has its advantages. it plays much better into handtraps, especially droll. it was also more fun for me to do this build :)

Just commenting because you deserve it, I find shs a boring autopilot deck (most modern decks are,but at least you plan your moves according to opponent's end board and opening hand)

id say that recent years have made decks that are less autopilot. Theres been some exceptions, but theres more skillful decks than there used to be.

Haven't seen the first SHS that bored me, they're always entertaining to face But this is not SHS... The only spell they gonna ever use is Sekka's light, and still that messes up your equips, so isn't considered nowadays; Satutobi or others being in extra deck doesn't mean is SHS, but just "play your best cards.deck" Regardless... the winrate doesn't lie, so gratz for the experiment I suppose
