Magnus Carlsen is a Norwegian chess grandmaster who is the former five-time World Chess Champion, reigning four-time World Rapid Chess Champion, and reigning six-time World Blitz Chess Champion. Arguably the greatest Chess player of all time, Carlsen has held the No. 1 position in the FIDE world chess rankings since 1 July 2011 and trails only Garry Kasparov in time spent as the highest-rated player in the world. His peak rating of 2882 is the highest in history. He also holds the record for the longest unbeaten streak at the elite level in classical chess.
He became a grandmaster at the age of 13, the second youngest in history at the time, and quickly established himself as a rising star in the world of chess. In 2013, Carlsen won the World Chess Championship and has since defended his title multiple times, solidifying his position as one of the greatest players of all time.
Carlsen is known for his exceptional skill in the fast-paced bullet chess format, where he regularly defeats other top players in high-pressure matches. He has been compared to legendary chess players such as Garry Kasparov and Bobby Fischer for his strategic abilities and quick-thinking, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers. His greatest rival in the chess world is American Rapid & Blitz specialist Hikaru Nakamura, against whom he has had many intense battles.
In addition to his impressive track record in over-the-board competitive chess, Carlsen is also known for his willingness to take on challenges outside of the traditional chess world. He has played chess against artificial intelligence and is the three-time defending champion of the Champions Chess Tour, an online fast chess tournament where he won three consecutive editions in empathic fashion since its inception. In recent times, Carlsen has turned to playing Poker, of which he has had limited success. With his natural talent and dedication to the game, Carlsen continues to be a dominant force in the world of chess and a true legend in the sport.

14:04 God blesses Magnus with such amazing talent…. And in return, he blatantly disrespects His name. If Bobby Fisher, for example, spoke like that on TV, in those days, there would be public outcry. But in these modern times, most young people don’t even care … in fact, I bet that many people will be offended for me even calling it out as offensive. Its a shame.

@@Dalibansoldier less sensitive? If you misgender someone these days, they’ll commit suicide. In any case, thanks for proving my point… more annoyed at me for mentioning what he said than him for actually saying it. How many young kids that play chess watch Magnus and look up to him? Drinking, cussing, acting like a Karen if he gets beaten with the black pieces. That said, I actually like the guy… I just think he needs an attitude check. Too many“adoring fans” that fear to criticize. I guess in the future, “everything“ will be tolerated. Nothing will be off-limits. And you’ll call that progress? Peace out.

Like most of his Norwegian countrymen, Magnus isn't religious. He doesn't believe in God. Thus, from his point view, there is no disrespect, since you can't disrespect an imaginary entity.

@@Unknown-jt1jo what’s the have to do with anything? It’s called class and common decency.. I don’t believe in Mohammed or Buda as a prophet, for example, but that doesn’t mean I’d go on tv and openly disrespect them with cuss words. Not to mention many kids watch this channel. It’s common sense. I knew all his adoring fans (and atheists) would rush to his rescue for any criticism of their hero…no matter what he did. So Predictable. Why not just be honest say “yeah, he screwed up and should think before he speaks”?
