Super7 Ultimates Thundercats Wave 7 Ratar-O action figure Review & Comparisons

Here's my review of Super7's Ratar-O figure, a bit more disappointing than Mongor unfortunately.

That's a good idea about the extra weapons. It wouldn't surprise me if Super7 did another Ratar-O based off the vintage toy. Him and Jackalman both had different colours to what they had in the show for the vintage line.

Oh I'd definitely be into repaints of Jackalman and Rataro for sure! Just wish they were 35 instead of 55!!

@@comix1017 Yeah, not really worth it. I ain't collecting Super7's vintage versions when I have the actual vintage figures. These are overpriced but I'm nearly done so I don't mind as much. I don't mind with Krampus but Ratar-O sounds cheap n' nasty, which is a shame because he's an important character for me. Wave 10 looks like a potential flop. Three really small figures that will each be the same price as these, then a more expensive Mumm-Ra that could have been an exclusive. What's good about it? A larger figure can me more expensive but a smaller one can't be cheaper. I do wonder how much longer they can keep this going. It doesn't matter to me. I'm done after Hachiman.

After Mongor and Ratar-O, I'm just waiting on Hachiman. I might be done after that.

Ratar-O looks cross-eyed in other reviews too. Apart from Slithe, they seem to have made all the mutants a bit taller than they should have been, or maybe the Thundercats a bit shorter than they should have been, but Ratar-O was pretty big in the show. I think he was the biggest out of the mutants. He was wide but I think he was also the tallest.

Wow, I was hoping a bit better. The sculpt looks good though. I was also a bit disappointed that Mongor was a bit hollow on the top and felt cheaper as well.

Thundercats Ultimates wave 10 has just been announced and is available to pre-order! Snarfer, Young Lion-O a Translucent Mumm-ra The Ever Living and a Grasshopper looking character whom I don't know? Maybe a weak wave! If you order direct from Super 7 you get bonus super pack head sculpts!🐯🐅🐾👍

He's called Quick Pick. He was in the first Mandora episode. Translucent Mumm-Ra is supposed to be based off 'The Dream Master' episode. They could have made him an exclusive or a bonus item later in the year instead of him taking a spot in wave 10 because he's basically just a variant. I think it is a weak wave.

@@Super1866 Yes, I agree a very weak wave! Quick Pick that's correct! They finally give us Snarfer but without Snarf LOL! Another $55 dollars for a small figure! Yes, Mumm-ra The Dream Master should have been an exclusive or a tear for the Cat's Layer! Seems like his eyes don't glow in the dark? What are they waiting for? Mummra's Tomb play set before they give him the red glow in the dark eyes? Nice to see Young Lion-O. I'm sure Mumm-Rana can't be to far behind and remember there are two versions of her. The mummy version and her ever-living transformed version! The bonus super pack heads seem to be a new way to for Super 7 to get people to buy direct from them?!🐯🐅💵💰

@@SuperMarioBrosIII Mumm-Ra could have been a tier for Cat's Lair, that's true. In that episode he had to get inside the lair in order to put his plan into action. 55 dollars for Snarfer is mental. I know people bought Snarf for that price, even though it wasn't worth it, but many would argue that Snarf is more essential than Snarfer. Snarf may be more popular than Snarfer too. He was there from the beginning. Snarfer is more for completists. The wave on the whole is not value for money because young Lion-O is a small figure and so is Quick Pick, a very flimsy looking thing. The larger figure is a Mumm-Ra variant that could have easily been a separate release. I don't think there is anything in wave 10 to excite people and nothing essential either. The value of it as a whole is minimal at best. Usually, they would have at least one figure that could be considered as essential so you would think they would do that again. They could have gone for much more interesting character choices. I'm surprised that we haven't gotten a more popular character that only appeared a few times or another Lunatak, a Berzerker maybe. It makes no difference to me at this point, I'm just surprised. Mumm-Rana is a good example that you gave there and seeing as how there are two versions of her, you'd think that perhaps they'd be looking to perhaps release one of them in this wave. Wave 10 is 4 slots that have been taken by figures that could have been extras in addition to the waves. If there was ever an opportunity to do a 5 or 6 figure wave, this would have been one seeing as how the wave consists mainly of small characters. Another thing about buying directly from Super7, Brian Flynn said in an interview not so long ago that from now on Super7 would receive their items before all other retailers and therefore buying directly from them would mean that you get the products first. It happened for the Reptilians wave but for wave 7, once again we're back to BBTS and Entertainment Earth getting the items before Super7. People are getting wave 7 from those retailers and receiving the items before the people who ordered directly from Super7. What's the deal with that? If I was in the US, I'd be over the moon about it, but seeing as how I'm in the UK, not so much because if Super7 get the items sooner, then so does the UK. Super7 has to receive their stock before the UK can receive any. Super7 have to ship them to the UK after receiving them and the UK is often quite low in the pecking order when it comes to shipping for some reason. We're certainly not prioritised. It just means that this time there is going to be a bigger time gap between seeing reviews on youtube and the items arriving in the UK, which actually was not the case with the Reptilians. It also means that one of the incentives to order from Super7 directly is gone.

@@SuperMarioBrosIII Btw, they've had opportunities to give Mumm-Ra glow in the dark eyes, and Lion-O, but yet they don't do it. I don't understand. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that fans would have wanted that.

My LJN Ratar-O also has the black daggers with the eyes in the middle. I don't know where those grey ones are from but I have seen pictures of LJN Ratar-O with those grey daggers before and they do look very similar to his daggers so I don't know. Is one set the original and the other set a re-issue? Some of those LJN figures were re-issued a few times.

Then I see another sealed version with the black daggers with the eyes between them hmm... The figure itself is identical. Wow?!

@@SuperMarioBrosIII I knew I'd seen them before. There was also a Lion-O with a PVC Snarf and one without. I've also seen pics of Lion-O with orange hair and pics of him with red hair. There was a Mumm-Ra The Ever-Living with a PVC Ma-Mutt and one without. I've even seen a Jackalman re-paint somewhere as well. On the Tygra thing, I don't know if LJN got confused because the dishevelled looking Tygra was called young Tygra but I thought it was supposed to be old Tygra based off 'The Trouble With Time' episode. The other Tygra is young Tygra to me, and when I say that I mean Tygra as he is normally because in the show, we don't see him younger. Unless you include the Thundercubs episodes but there was never a figure based on that version of him. It was much later in the show and I'm pretty sure that if LJN wanted to make Thundercubs, they would have made them smaller and they would have made the others too, not just Tygra.
