I use brelooms to stall, in one game it came down to mega scissor and it. I ended up winning with Spore + Leech Seed, even with it having Roost. My opponent made a snarky comment at the end, “That’s the only way you can win huh.” It baffles me people actually think “strategy” is cheap.

Its more because people are used to fighting npc trainers who you can defeat with ease, as such when they have to fight actual strategies they often can't keep up because they don't have one of their own or just coppy popular smogon builds without knowing how they work in an actual battle

@@Akatsuki69387 I think they should add that to the game to some degree just having some competitive battles vs ai trainers to a lesser extent to give some more challange in the base game, I know battle tower/tree is something that comes sort of close but those can cheat like making teams that perfectly counter your team or having pokemon with perfect type advantage. It would be better to have trainers who have a sertain strategy you aren't used to and having to think how to counter it on the go

To answer this guy's question: None of your "counters" work on Manaphy because they don't actually counter it. You know how you stop a Mon from maxing out its SpA? Taunt, Torment, Snatch, Haze, Roar, Whirlwind, & using offense to actually threaten its survivability on the field. Attempting to tank 4× SpA hits from a Manaphy that has a moveset that hits 90% of type combinations neutral or better isn't a "counter." Preventing them from reaching 4× is a counter.

Like how in the first match, the guy had a focus sash pokemon and the Manaphy had 11% hp, but instead decided to sacrifice 2 of his other mons and then use it last

Seriously I really love the music you use for these. Consistently great.

Couldn't stop laughing. Dude ever since I found your Channel the other day my mates and I have been having a great laugh at work watching these. I mean I've met some salty people in my time playing Pokèmon which is since day one but these Players really are something else.

This guy complains over his non-counters against Manaphy, YET lets a lot of chances unused... like in 11:50 all the turns Manaphy was sleeping?

Was just about to comment this. Why not switch to Torterra? A couple good grass moves would easily KO it while asleep. Still probably would have lost but don't complain about Manaphy counters when you had an easy KO in your pocket left unused.

The thing is, Manaphy has had this exact same setup since it was introduced *15 years ago*. I don't understand why this dude seems to think it's BDSP exclusive. I know it's now exploding because of the egg giveaway but still, this set has been used for over a decade. No arguing it's a beast of a set, but this guy seems to not realize it's been around for probably longer than he's been alive. If it was going to be banned out of its tier it would have already been. This guy needs to either learn to counter or play a different tier.

I love how confident he was in Blissey, and it only lasted 2 turns

He misplayed SO MUCH. The most obvious being keeping Mantine in while Manaphy set up, THEN he leaves Empoleon in to Scald a sleeping Manaphy instead of switching to Luxray for Wild Charge. Truly fried his brain on this one lmao

He has a Luxray and a Torterra, who will absolutely dunk on Manaphy while its asleep, and he sits there with an Empoleon, whose primary selling point its excellent defensive typing (which is useless against a sleeping pokemon due to it being ASLEEP).

Anybody else count the amount of times he had a perfect opportunity to drop Manaphy as a little mini game? I got up to about 6.

Man could've switched to luxray while it was asleep but he chose to hit it with water moves instead... bold👏👏👏👏👏👏

so far this is the saltiest person I've seen in these videos and it's truly impressed me skdjdhfb

I like how he just sat with Empoleon on those 4-5 turns that Manaphy was sleeping lol

Maybe he thought (incorrectly) that he could somehow re-Burn Manaphy while it was asleep? Or hoping for a lucky crit? Dunno, just tossing ideas out. I'd have switched to Tort or Lux myself.

To be fair, the odds of taking Manaphy out with a Lux wild charge was only like 100%. Way more reliable to hope that 3 consecutive scald crits would be enough kill.

I am by no means a pokemon expert, but I love how none of his supposed counters included simply whirlwinding the little blue teabag away so temp would have to set up again. I dunno if that'd solve the problem, but it would have at least bought him some time.

Phasing/Haze is like _the_ counter for a setup sweeper, especially if it’s a glass cannon like Polteageist that relies on Focus Sash to set up. Or if you want to just add to the disrespect, bring something with Topsy-Turvy.

I've never seen Manaphy referred to as a "blue teabag" before, but it's perfect.

I love the idea of screaming insults and rage and ego at someone for five straight minutes and then when they finally respond, calling them cocky.

Love the complaint about not being able to counter it, when he could have used Wild Charge by switching to Luxray while Manaphy was resting.

After watching these videos, I do use stat changing moves a lot more now and it makes the game a lot more fun! Kudos

Love how he’s complaining at the start about a foot and a half tall pokemon that wiped his team, how about this, DIVERSIFY YOUR TEAM! Stop keeping the same elements in a team! I also love the Raikou’s Scald rage! “Since when?!” Since Gen 8 BDSP, Raikou can learn Scald from: • anywhere (move is level-up/tutor/TM/HM/egg in Gen 8)

That last match was so poor from the opponent. 1. They wild charged like 1/2 of Luxray's health away. 2. They had a sleeping Manaphy with no sleep talk or chesto and didn't have the 1/2 a brain cell required to switch in Torterra or Luxray for damage, instead they just stayed in and scalded on a mon that cannot be burned

At the same time, however, i have sacked Pokémon and then when it came down to only a few left, switched in to what was sweeping my team and lived a hit and revenge killed it when it was my second to last mon so it didn’t matter anymore. Sometimes you just don’t think of things the same, tbh. Feel like a dumbass later tho

For the third match I was expecting to see you roll up with a team of 6 Manaphies 😂
