    @@zualbr3329 nah. 2 turn sleep would have been enough. Lugia outspeed Smeargle, who tanked the hit. So no sleep turn lost here. 1: for swich 2: Sub Wake up, break sub -> belly to berry Now dynamax, outspeed due berry. Thunder Punch hit for 75% at 75 BP, Dynamax nearly doubles that to 130, easiely 1-shotting Lugia. Just a 1-turn sleep could have given him the win

    There is something quite relaxing about cruising through the game steamrolling all the NPCs and not having to actually think, when that's what you're in the mood for. The keyword here, though, being 'NPCs'. In Professor Oak's famous words "There's a time and place for everything...but not now!" 😂 Idk how these clowns would rather call anything that outsmarts/surprises them "cheating" instead of just, like...learning that it's a strat that exists and researching its counters. At least the literal 10-year-old had SOME level of excuse for being an immature derp.

    @@xxx_jim_the_reaper_xxx Thinking about Gen 5, one of my favorite Pokémon was Bisharp. Not only was his design pretty cool, but when my Bisharp had: X-Scissor Night Slash Aerial Ace Iron Head He was able to take out the Elite Four (in Pokémon Black/White) by himself - especially if he is at a very high level, since the Elite Four had Pokémon types of Dark, Ghost, Psychic and Fighting. My Empoleon in D/P/Pt/BD/SP can easily wreck the Elite Four with moves like: Surf Ice Beam Drill Peck Steel Wing

    Well the chances of protect working 2 times is fairly low as the chance of it working is lowered by 2/3, and with my experience with Pokémon that's a no go.

    @@BlueEyes274 I mean, given that the other player said "I thought I'd try this after shining pearl" it might be a complete newbie who has no idea what anything is, and I mean... clearing a main pokemon game really doesn't require any thought if you just cram levels. And, if you're a complete newbie, you also wouldn't have any idea that showdown is geared toward "competitive" at all.

    Level 1 mons are kind of easy to deal with if you have Taunt and then followed by combo-type attack moves on your team but the Legendaries almost always do not have combo-type moves at all so they (legendary spammers) CANNOT counter this strat no matter what they do.

    Most of the strategies aren't even that great. My man's Alakazam walled the cottoned until the end of time after it revealed no endeavor. The only strategies used that are usually banned are sheer cold Articuno and moody smeargle. SD Zoroark doesn't sound that great tbh. Sub salac Kommo'o is a fun set though

    @@randomgd8732 brilliant diamond and shining Pearl. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a good game but when it could be completed in an hour on first day of release and dex completed in less than 3 I wouldn’t go to lengths to call it a great game as far as pokemon games go. It’s still incredible tho but honestly I think I’d get almost the same experience loading up my old platinum version.

    @@KBgamer2010 true, but if there’s a zoroark on the enemy team, and someone brings in a psychic weak Pokémon, people who know zoroark trick might try to anticipate it and smack it with a non psychic move, granted though, I will admit, if you are good at mind games, zoroark can most DEFINITELY go nuts in a match, it’s just that it isn’t as easy to use as most other mons due to it relying more on mindgames… plus indirect damage kinda screws it, like stealth rocks or sandstorm depending on its disguise, again, not saying it’s at all bad, it can definitely have its highs, it’s just that it’s comparatively harder to use than most other mons

    The children rpg thing is kinda meh. Sure, it’s true. But at the same time, competitive is on the more complex side of things. For instance, if you’re coding an ai to play competitive Pokémon, there are far more possible situations to account for than the entirety of chess in just the first turn.

    @@killa-sadie Most likely is that they were holding a Flame Orb, which automatically burns the holder after one turn. Some do that because they get boosts from their ability if they have a certain status effect of some sort (such as Gliscor holding a Toxic Orb for Poison Heal). Others will do it so they dont get affected by other ones such as sleep, paralysis, or poison

    @@swiftstrike4044 basically Zoroark has the ability to transform into I think the first Pokémon in your party. Unlike ditto tho Zoro only takes the appearance of the Pokémon and not the type and moves. So basically Zoroark changed his skin in a video game.

    Before I knew how Pokemon worked even with Team Preview I used think that when I was still like kid in 2010 I thought Zoroark was OP. I also had the misfortune of playing against a guy who knew all the ins and outs of breeding, and EV training whereas I just got my Pokemon from the routes they were found

    I've never seen someone who didn't know what a Zoroark is period. Can't wait for when Hisuian Zoroark comes with its 3 immunities and only weakness to dark, that'll rustle some jimmies

    @@gus7807 Zoroark is Pokemon that debuted in the Black and White games for the Nintendo DS. Which means Zoroark has been around for almost 12 years.
