Yeah, but I wish the Saturn version could recieve the same treatment since while the Genesis music may outstrip the Saturn soundtrack (mostly) as well as not having unbearable loading times; the visuals, controls, and especially the Special Stages are far superior to the Genesis version. There is a fangame called Sonic 3D in 2D which takes all of 3D Blast's Levels and makes them and the gameplay like Sonic 3 & Knuckles while giving new Mini-Bosses and unlockable characters. It's not a perfect game since the physics feel a bit off and the first major boss always gives me trouble since the spike ball is huge and bounces so erratically!

Ok the graphics were on point. They looked awesome. The controls sucked though. Especially in spring stadium and ice cap zone.

I dunno what I was expecting, but I was a little disappointed about the fact that Super Sonic was just a simple palette swap. The fact you don't have to rescue those stupid damn birds is hilarious though. Screw them! Let them stay roboticized!

Despite huge lack of baddies, this game was still fun...always wanted Super Sonic in 3D Blast so thanks!!

And now there's gonna be an "official" Director's Cut of the game with Super Sonic. Awesome!

To think that the soundtrack was re-used in Sonic Adventure to sound better. To think of it, Sonic Adventure might've been a follow-up to Sonic 3D Blast.

As a child, I couldn't believe that Super Sonic wasn't in the game. Thanks, Silk, for fixing it. lol

Sonic games always need some Super Sonic. It just feels less complete without him. He's a reward. You get the cathartic experience of stomping through levels and challenges that used to be frustrating. That's what's awesome about him.

aceproductions5734 Rusty Ruin gave me trouble, but then I figured it out, got to Volcano Valley which was worse, and then Gene Gadget which was just awful. Funny fact: I was playing this on an emulator a while back and when I got to Spring Stadium, at some point somehow I ended up losing the flickies which somehow faded out of existence due to getting attacked which made me have to commit suicide

My eyes are just really enjoying that intro animation

I love how much Sega remix their old music. For example, the intro and Panic Puppet Act 1 is now Twinkle Cart in Sonic Adventure. Green Grove Zone is now The Air (second half of Windy Valley) in Sonic Adventure. Volcano Valley is now Final Fortress in Sonic Heroes. Diamond Dust Zone is played somewhere in Sonic Chronicles. And Mystic Cave 2 Player is now City Escape. You get the point.

I agree. The game's levels are designed with that mechanic in mind, so removing the flickies makes the game extremely easy and boring as you can just speed through the levels without any thought, missing out on a majority of the experience. What I liked about 3D Blast was the slower paced platforming and exploration. I never found the flickies to be a huge annoyance either. There are a few areas where losing them can be a pain though, like the lava pits, but if you get a fire shield, that becomes a non-issue. Adding Supersonic to this is nice and all but doesn't really do anything special for me. I don't think removing flickies is a smart move. If anything, I would prefer a mod that keeps the flickies BUT changes the mechanic so that you can't lose flickies once you have rescued them. That would solve the issue people really have with them.

Yeah, the entire game is DESIGN AROUND THAT, plus it's not the much of a hassle.

honestly, if this had been implemented from the start, I think I would have loved the game completely in spite of its flaws.

It's amazing how much this game plays when you don't have to collect the flickies.

Really nice hack ! Gameplay is way more dynamic than original rom, plus "no flickies" omg so wonderful idea which make the game so smoother !

For those of you wondering this is a game hack. You can't actually go super sonic in this game, and the chaos emeralds were easy to obtain. Not to mention you're actually required to collect the flickies. You can't progress without them.

Not enough Super Sonic in this run. But props for pulling it off without getting hit once.

The biggest let down in my time as a sonic fan. I was so happy to get this game for Christmas as a kid and I actually enjoyed it for a bit. I was pretty good at the special stages so I was ready to see 3D super sonic. I spent hours playing, waiting. When the time finally came and I had the last emerald, I rushed around that balloon level for 50 rings. I jumped up and hit the double tap. Nothing. I collected 100 thinking maybe that’s what I needed. No. Nothing. I was devastated and mentally exhausted. I gave the game up for many years until I ended up playing it again to the end on the ps3 mega drive collection. Despite the lack of super sonic, I can still enjoy this game.

The transparency effects on this game is very impressive, because mega drive don't have many titles with translucent and transparency effects like this game show and prove the hardware capability

Sonic doesn't know that Flickies were powering Badnicks but Tails, Knuckles, the spindash, and elemental shields are present so this has to be non-canon because Sonic should have known that Flickies powered Badnicks since the first game.

Watching this surprised me with how many sonic 3D blast references made their way into sonic mania (Being frozen in ice to get through obstacles, and the boss of the spring level being referenced with eggman's machine used in egg reverie zone for mania)

Sonic 3d directors cut was released by the original developer which incorporates super sonic and other tweaks about a year ago. Its cool that someone else done that before. I never knew

Can't believe it's only been 8 years since i've watched, and thought this was real.

It should be noted, the director, lead developer of this game heads up a channel called GameHut, who created Sonic 3D Blast (Travelers Tales) made this and had created a Directors Cut of this game. Giving credit where it's due.

Yes The Super Sonic Music Was In Sound Test On The Original And Was Supposed To Be In The Game But It Is Not In The E3 Demo Either
