I think it's because Sakurai wanted the animalistic characters like Bowser and Donkey Kong to have "realistic" animal noises. Bowser Jr., the Koopalings, and Banjo & Kazooie are the exception as they're more cartoon-y.

Unfortunately for you and me, the majority of Smash Fans hate Sonic’s new side/down taunt voice clip by Roger Craig Smith from Smash 4 and Ultimate and really, *REEEEEEAAALLLLYY* want the old voice lines of “You’re too slow!” and “Come on, step it up!” from Brawl back (sometimes to the point of rioting) because they either let their nostalgia get the better of them or they’re too close-minded to even *accept* the new voice clip😢😑

I just realised the fourth hero sounds LITTERALLY THE SAME as Link in HW. It's not just the same VA, it the exact same voice

Couple of other interesting things to note: -Kazumi Totaka composed the music for Yoshi's Story as well as voiced Yoshi for the first time in said game and has been off-and-on contributing music and sound work for the Yoshi games since (including slipping his infamous Totaka's Song in a few of them) -Hajime Wakai is not only the voice of the Pikmin (minus the Winged variety) but also is the primary composer for the Pikmin series' music -David Hayter also voices Zangetsu in the Castlevania-inspired Bloodstained Ritual of the Night -Lani Minella is only Lyn's English actress in Smash while Wendee Lee (Xianghua in the Soul Calibur series and Athena Cykes in the Ace Attorney series) voices her in other appearances. Smash Ultimate's staff roll even incorrectly credits Lee for Lyn's Assist Trophy appearance despite Minella's voice clips from Brawl still being used; also making Lyn the only Fire Emblem character appearing in Smash to not use their current English voice from the main series. -Adam Howden also voices Leander in Ni no Kuni II and Anders in Dragon Age II -Cam Clarke is also Liquid Snake in Metal Gear Solid and its Twin Snakes remake

It's funny how Pyra/Mythra's voice actress Skye Bennett voiced at least two LEGO Marvel characters, while the MCU's version of Quake played by Chloe Bennett went by the name Skye before she learned her name was Daisy Johnson.

Yuri Lowenthal did amazing as Marth! He’s also the voice of Spider-Man!

Those two ladies who did the voice of mains Min Min and Pyra and Mythra are really good 🙂

I find it hilarious that 3 of the 4 VA's for Hero have voiced a past incarnation of Link. Eleven = ALBW Link Arusu = OoT Link Eight = HW1 Link Yet the Hero in the Green Tunic, Solo, is the only one who hasn't.
