For anyone wondering, the specific version of Dr. Wily's assist trophy is from MM7.

Technically, Gray Fox did debut in the first Metal Gear game, but he does become a boss in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, but he doesn't get his iconic Ninja Gear till Metal Gear Solid.

Nice vid! But a subtitle with the name of the game and the year of release would've been even nicer.

Remember, people keep saying that these Assist Trophies mean the character is disconfirmed, once a character becomes an Assist, the same character cannot become a Fighter later during the DLC. There was never any official statement saying that, fans just assumed that. People said Trophies and Spirits disconfirm, and we got Lucas, Mewtwo, Min-Min, Pyra and Mythra.

Sakurai actually went on record saying that Spring Man was in consideration to be the ARMS rep before it became Min Min. So I think that goes to show they’re not an immediate deconfirmation.

@@charlescalvinfromtriplethr9712 Little Mac became an Assist in one game, and a Fighter later in another game. We never had a character become an Assist in one game, then Fighter later in the same game. But there was no official statement that can't happen.

I do hope that in the next Smash Bros game that some of these Assist Trophies will get their chance to be playable.

There is a possibility. Little Mac, Isabelle, and Dark Samus both started out as assist trophies, but in the next Super Smash Bros title, they became playable.

A playable Midna would be a pleasant surprise for Smash 6 (especially since Zelda doesn't really have a playable character that isn't Link, Zelda or Ganondorf-Sheik doesn't count, because Sheik is Zelda)

I wonder what's next... Fighters? Alternate Costumes OF Fighters? The stage background cameos? Mii Costumes? Trophies? Stickers? or Spirits?

The stage itself where Shadow is is called Sky Rail. It's in the same mountain region as Pumpkin Hill.

Little mac made it out of that category on Sm4sh maybe other characters in this category can make it into the main cast in a future smash game

Plus, while none of the Assists in Ultimate got a promotion to Fighter via DLC, Min-Min, Pyra and Mythra were Spirits in Ultimate at launch and they got promotions from Spirit to Fighter via DLC.

Waluigi is using his Tennis 🎾 racket during Assist Trophies.

When I bought Ultimate, I almost cried seeing the rabbit of Nintendo Badge Arcade, cause it unlocked many memories that I had from this "game" that I loved...idk why but I loved it so much and finally seeing that pink rabbit after years has been such a Wonderful thing 😭

There was never any statement that once the character becomes an Assist Trophy, the same character cannot become a fighter in the same game during the DLC. People said the same thing about Trophies ane Spirits, then we got Lucas, Mewtwo, Min-Min, Pyra and Mythra.

For the next Smash, would like to see T-Rex from Fossil Fighters as an Assist Trophy (it will maul opponents, and any opponent with 100% damage or above will be killed (devoured). Also, its sound effects will be Rexy's roar from Jurassic Park).

It's the historical origin of all characters that became assist trophies, not the concept itself.

Well, if Ultimate's pattern on introducing new playable Mario characters continues for Smash 6, Chain Chomp is a lock. Also, why haven't Skull Kid and Midna been made playable yet?

Infantry and Tanks is the only Assist Trophy I want to be playable.
