Watch the MLG Anaheim matches. Wife and the other guy (someone that I haven't seen before) are totally awesome. I actually like Wife + D1 more than D1 + Prog.

Really hope Melee stays like this forever... Im a starting smasher from Melbourne, Australia and i usually play melee with 5 other mates in a 1v1 tournaments to see who the best player is at the moment. We usually have small gatherings here at RMIT University and im about to attend my first smash tournament on the 2nd of may. it makes me happy that i can finally join in on a community that is passionate about something like this.

I keep watching this set over and over again cause MAN do D1 and Prog do an amazing job here. I even convinced people who don't follow competitive Melee to watch this set and they love it and always tell me at the end how good the commentary is. So good to see the energy flowing through both the commentators, the players, and the whole crowd

The intensity of the play, the awesome commentary and the crowd hype as hell make this set a must-watch

Prog always brought out the best in D1 and vice versa. Maybe the best commentary I've ever heard from them.

I love how in the first round ,the music is super peaceful ,while the two announcers are flipping out. Simply hilarious.

I come back to this video now and then to experience the pure hype from the first stock of mew2king destroying leffen on FD. everytime i re visit, absolute goosebumps

I really enjoy how the Smash community gives a huge amount of credit to the old school players, as much as they give credit to the players playing. That's the mark of a great community.

I know it's been 4 years, but how can someone not miss Prog/D1 commentary (especially in melee) from back in the day. They're considerably the most legendary commentary duo in the community, across all games. Just glad Prog's health has improved since he left.

He saw Leffen go scissors and rock when trying to initiate the game. M2K knew that Leffen was trying to make him think that he would go one of those two. M2K then came to the conclusion that Leffen would go for paper, the only one he hadn't previously done. M2K counterpicked with scissors and used the ridiculous disjointed hitboxes to win the matchup.

These commentators were at the top of their game. A lot of great calls and always on point.

I find it hilarious that people say m2k isn't that good as fox. He's bopped leffen in like every fox ditto they've done. Even mango and armada haven't done that good vs leffen as fox.

leffen in early 2014 and leffen in mid 2015 are far too different to compare. and before you say pax, that was super sloppy on both sides lol.

The nostalgia of this set gets me every time even 9 years later!!! A shame what happened with d1. Miss the guys commentary no one has even come close to his energy and Persona in the new melee commentary. Kinda boring sometimes just repeating things that happen in game

This is probably my favorite M2K match to watch.

M2K: fine I'll beat you with your own character. It's so good to see that smirk get wiped off Leffen's face.

For a 2014 major This stream quality still amazes me. If you took the "Apex 2014" off and you showed someone who has never watched smash bros. He would think this was a week ago or something. Love how smash stream quality has been getting better and better.

It's definately worth it. Buy a gamecube or a wii with a legit controller on ebay. Fun as fuck both as a party game or competitive.

Marcus Wellz I also recommend Super Smash Bros Brawl: Project M. M is for melee, as it moves Brawl up to Melee speeds, as well as making it more competitive and returning some competitive mechanics again. More characters, more costumes, HD redone stages. It's pretty good for casual or competitive.

See I understand leffen is in general not a nice person at all and likes being the villain but I honestly do not think it's a dick move to call on the rule book when your opponent pauses, there is a function to take off pausing and accident or not it's in the rules that you can't pause during the match, it sucks but tough luck
