That was part of the idea- a temple in, and tied with, nature..... and the reason I left the front open....

This feels so organic & wholesome! Reminds me of girl scout camp as a child, memories of s'mores and giggles. You nailed it, it's so beautiful, in sentiment and build quality. 💗

Having gone through several summers of camp, the BSA, and being an Eagle Scout- yep, a lot of that vibe stuck with me even all these years later.....

I love this. Plans for this would be awesome as I think it would be perfect for an art studio because of the light you get from the back wall. I know I would love to have one like it but maybe just a tiny bit bigger maybe.

I thought the same thing- the natural light that comes into this little cabin space is pretty amazing

Yeah, I can't imagine...... just very sad. The original plan was just for a mere memorial bench, but I was able to convince them, with the help of one of the main helpers, that this would be far cooler and would be something that the other kids could use and enjoy.

Some of your best work, its defiitely a beautiful tribute.

Deek! Awesome Job! Your talent never ceases to amaze me! I would love to build something like this too OR that other, older one you did where the side raises up! I LOVE that and can just see it nestled down in the trees on our property! If I build it, I will videotape the process so you can see it AND you will definitely get linked to your sight for your work and your books! Thanks for all you are doing! Beautiful tribute/temple to one gone too soon. So many useful touches to make it more accessible to all ages i.e.; the knee walls and open areas. Just magical for all. Thank you for sharing this very special build.

The Dart one from ages back? I built most of it as a display at a home show- they didn't let me work on it afterwards. I have no idea what happened to it.

This is beautiful! Have your designed anything like this to be used for living quarters? This would make a nice kitchen or bathroom. The designs I've seen so far are to small for full time living. I'm going you have something just as simple that is a bit bigger or has the option to add on or build modules or something.

👍Another great build, Deek! Quick question... why are some of the knee wall studs turned sideways? Was that so you had more surface area where two tuftex panels meet? 🤔

Definitely so. Rewatching the video now and now I wanna copy the whole island idea for my kids. They are getting older and I have the perfect spot for it.

Love it! If you can build an A-Frame for a girl (sorry to hear that she had passed), why can't we build A-Frames for homeless people?

We can- others can too- problem is always a place (allowed) for them- and funds for the materials- they have to come from somewhere. I'm working on the very simplest a-frame plans real soon.....
