Super Megaforce ruined its Japanese counterpart, the Pirate Sentai Gokaiger. It's definitely one of the best sentai series. It's an anniversary series featuring previous sentai as they can transform into them. Even so, it can still be watched on its own. You don't really have to watch all the previous sentai series. It's just fun references and cameos. And the pirate theme actually plays a big part in the show and not just a suit like in PR. Definitely recommend you watching it.

Gokaiger was the first season of super sentai I watched. I LOVED it. Unlike power rangers, each character had season long arcs to their character development. I highly recommend watching it.

9:00 Bouken Pink, one of my favourite female heroes for the franchise. When her morpher was damaged and the guys were captured, she proceeded to gear up with military equipment and storm the place where the monster had set up shop! 13:20 "Why are they dancing?" Kyoryuger had a secondary theme of music. In the 100 years later special, the dance was shown to be a part of the transformation whether you like it or not. The new team actually got forced into the dance because they didn't know it would happen! 13:54 "In the show he was male and Tyler's Dad." Yeah, that's because most of the Sentai footage is of the first KyoryuCyan, Ramirez, a warrior from ancient Europe. The female one in this, is actually Blue's sister, and both of them are STRONG. Also, the female one is played by the actress who played DekaYellow, so it's got that little bit of added meta fun. 14:55 The star thing was a Sentai weapon that didn't see much use in the show, so the American version gave it more prominence as the morpher. 15:45 The yellow for Zyuohger looks like a lion... because he actually is one. With the exception of Red and the Sixth for that series, the other rangers are all animal people transformed to look human. They come from an alternate world of animal people, and were stranded on our side of the portal. You can actually see that the human disguises aren't perfect because they all still have tails. 16:25 Out of the 12 rangers in that series, only 2 are Earthlings, and they're the last to join up. Everyone else is either a suit character for aliens and robots, or a face actor playing a human-like alien.

I think the Kyoyugers are dancing while morphing because they get their powers from Samba and music... In the movie "Gaburincho of Music" the opening theme is called the Earth's song which is what gives them the power to defeat the villains 😅

Zedd was PR original. Also the SPD battlizer and the spirit rangers in Jungle Fury. Could be more but I’m more familiar with Sentai than PR at this point.

Theres also Light speed Rescue’s titanium Ranger. Actually on the SPD battlelizer, that was the first instance something from the adaptation was used in the original’s material, since it showed up in the “handing the torch” special for Dekaranger and Magiranger(SPD to Mystic Force).

18:47 All of them actually, with Mighty Morphin adapting from the 16th Sentai series onwards. With Sentai doing all the work as the costumes and certain action footage are licensed out once a series wraps up production with about a year or so between the start of the original and it’s adaptation’s.

They’re starting to make original outfits & stuff soon. So we won’t have to wait as long for seasons. Not sure how it’s gonna work on Netflix though. 10 episodes per season I believe so Idk if it’ll get a bigger budget with longer episodes or what, but that’s something to look forward to. As long as their isn’t pointless comic relief scenes & for a more mature audience I’m sure it’ll do fine.

@@terrellthaddies7867 Thats what I meant. Maybe I could’ve worded it better. I was mainly referring to the reboot. I don’t mind Cosmic Fury having only 10 episodes with regular screen time. As long as it focuses on the story more then comic relief nonsense with Jane & J-borg. In fact they really shouldn’t get much screen time at all. They don’t add anything to the story. Anyways when I was talking about the reboot I was saying if 10 episodes is all we get from now on the episodes could be longer. To make up for that. Maybe a bigger budget & hopefully it’s more serious. So it’ll attract a bigger audience(probably).

As a LIFE-LONG Power Rangers fan... I find myself enjoying Super Sentai just slightly more, being that they don't have the limitations with storytelling that PR has. Would love to see you do more Sentai reviews. I think I was 12 when I discovered Sentai and felt like I was lied to my whole life😂😂😂

I'm a former power ranger fan, when I discovered super sentai I think 2012, I thought they were a million times better then power rangers, and the storys were alot better, but that didn't stop me from meeting all the rangers.

Curiosity: the Actress who voices Wash Pink in Kyuranger is the same one who plays Yellow in Gokaiger, so much so that in the movie Cross Over with other beings she makes a scene bringing both characters together.

Fun Fact: the suits in the Japanese footage are shiny and the suits in the US version are matte so that a fun way to tell the difference between PR and Sentai 😊

The Dancing Part in Kyoryuger is Necessary it can't be controlled as explained in the Movie 100 years later

I never knew that Super Sentai started way before Power Rangers until early 2020. It makes me want to travel to Japan even more. PS: I like your hair it compliments your eyes and lips 😊

Kyoryuger (Dino Charge) was themed around dinosaurs and music, singing & dancing. ToQger wasn't adapted but if you have the time and patience watch it with subtitles - you won't be disappointed! Nininger (Ninja Steel) had a green ranger but she was a movie exclusive and appeared only once and was not adapted as a Power Rangers character. Zyuohger also wasn't adapted, but four of the rangers were from a land of animal people (Zyumans) who have tails. Only their red ranger and sixth ranger are human. Kyuranger is being adapted as Cosmic Fury, but only the Mecha (Zord) footage will be used, not the ranger costumes.

Nice reaction! Nice to see a fellow Mystic Force enjoyer, we're kinda rare 😆. Also, notice the Sentai of the past decade that didn't get adapted. Something about most of those teams are specific amongst them. Can ya guess what it is? 👀

Cosmic Fury was mostly American. I think they only carried over the Zords from Zentai but modified the Dino Fury suits & had Billy return as MMPR Blue. But it was pretty much American made

And elements of Kyuranger (the one with the pink ranger with wings) is being used for cosmic fury and afterwards no more sentai footage is being used

10:03 to answer your question the way you know is on their helmets America uses clips on the side of their helmets, and in Japan, they use magnets

Fun fact: Dekaranger (the Japanese counterpart of SPD) was originally going to be a train or bullet train themed sentai but the concept was scrapped, the only element of the trains left over is the helmet designs.

Hope you do this for also the other series known as Kamen Rider. You'd be surprised at how they operate compared to Power Rangers and Sentai. And just to do this ahead of time, I would recommend trying to find whatever is the more current video/year, cause lots of times people kinda don't realize that some of the videos they react to are out of date, cause yeah the one you saw was 3 seasons behind current ones. :P

The reason they're dancing is cuz they're themed around Samba music and the spirits of dinosaurs who died off literally referred to as the spirits their power comes from their bravery and The Melodies of the spirits hence why they transformed by dancing

The reason for the wings in the Megaforce suits it's because they're Sentai counterparts were Greek angels

Their are slits in the actual visor, while all of it is a hard plastic portions are see through but the same color.

Fun Fact, Power Rangers has adapted different series of Super Sentai! has taken battle footage and plot from them as well

You can identify Japanese footage if the suits look more metallic and lighter. As well as Blue being a darker and more solid color.

One thing that a lot of people say wrong, is calling the rangers Sentai, but both in Power Rangers and Super Sentai theyre called Rangers

18:04 Actress Mio Tudo (Kiramei Pink) also has a character in the Kamen Rider series, gaining powers years after the end of the series.

Fun Fact: some of the forest scenes for Magiranger (mystic force) was filmed in New Zealand

We got 30 seasons out of them and they just had their 48th anniversary or better terms. We are going on the 30th anniversary.

i watched both growing up, my favorite super sentai female heros were the pink dairanger, the yellow shikenger, go-buster yellow, blue zyuohger ,and gokai yellow. fun fact: goseiranger was about angels that represented the elements (water, air, and earth) on earth protecting humans; to not have any religious controversy, they just created megaforce in the US.

Yeah in Ninninger the core five (red, blue, yellow, pink, and white) morphed using their swords and the gold ranger morphed using a cheeseburger themed morpher. But when they adapted Ninninger into Ninja Steel they changed it to where the rangers morphed using Morphers. Fun fact: while Levi didn't morph using the burger themed morpher (he used a morpher like the others) the burger themed morpher did appear in Ninja Steel Levi used it to take pictures

"She looks like an insect" This show is a 'spiritual' spinoff of Kamen Rider (Masked Rider) where the titular hero was grasshopper themed. The more interesting concepts start from '87 or so - aura, magic, other dimensions, fantasy. It's not surprising those dubs weren't popular. Some of the older ones are retcon as Aliens for Power Rangers, which gives them another interesting element to supplement the adaption. "Is anything original?" Some is but the show is rather derivative, not necessarily of the work it's meant to be adapting.😂 There was a male Aqua Kyoryuger - he was a living ghost. He passed the gun to her for the finale.

Recommend checking out both kamen rider and super sentai transformation vids, plus sentai monster enlargement videos.

In Mystic force 4 of the rangers was Australian, the other cast was from New Zealand

Japanese footage: the suits have a shiny sheen to them due to the material they're made of. It's THE most noticable with the Red & Blue Ranger suits. Except it's not a reliable tell for Beast Morphers, because the suits in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters were a material that looks like leather...soooooo the Beast Morphers version did likewise. The only real tell is the zord footage, and even that's not 100% reliable due to additional footage Hasbro had made of Devon using the Cheetah Blaster for his zord's finisher. (On the flip side, Dinocharge and Samurai have completely reworked Megazord cockpits, largely to account for the zord exclusive armored forms they get) Zyuuden Sentai Kyouryuuger, the series whose footage was adapted for Power Rangers Dinocharge: Kyouryuuger had an underlying theme of music. That's why you hear the cool jingle and see the goofy dancing. There's even a movie called Zyuuden Sentai Kyouryuuger: Gaburincho of Music, which introduces the evil Deathryuuger (Dinocharge's Dark Ranger, only seen within the US in the Power Rangers comics by Boom Studios...for now). Crazy because the toys actually teased it WAY ahead of time, only for him to never appear in the show. Shuriken Sentai Ninninger: Yup. They used the swords (Ninja Ichibantou, renamed Ninja Star Blade) to henshin. In Power Rangers Ninja Steel, they used what was the sidearm in Ninninger (Karakuri Henge, renamed Ninja Star Morpher) to morph...AND they gave Gold a crappy repaint of it instead of Starninger's cheeseburger lookin' henshin device, while relegating the sword to the sidearm role.

Both versions (Power Rangers and Super Sentai) are mostly different story-wise. Every once in a while extra Rangers are added to PR or removed (or seasons are skipped). They can both be watched and get a different experience each which is good. To me, after moving on to Super Sentai, I always feel like the PR versions are more watered-down nowadays so I've stopped watching them after Dino Thunder. Every once in a while I'll come to see how they handle certain seasons, but after Mega Force/Super Mega Force I feel they are in need of a restructuring. The newest season coming sounded interesting since they wanted to make their own original set of Rangers, but this was short-lived after seeing that they were recycling the helmets from the previous season, using another Sentai season's mechs and just making the suits look uninspired. I'd say if you want a more in depth experience then Super Sentai is the better pick. If you have fun with that then should also give the Kamen Rider series a try for an even more serious/fun experience.

The japanese stuff we used were the monsters and the robots. The original stuff were the plots and the characters.

Dinocharge was the first time I checked in with PR in several years. Kyoryuger, it’s Sentai counterpart, is amazing. There was a male aqua in the Japanese up until the later most part of the series. Grey, cyan and silver all got new people.

11:13 in Power Rangers version, the female red ranger is the sister of the red ranger but in this Japanese version, female red ranger is 17 years old girl who adopted the male red ranger as her son even he's older. The story still same in both version male Red ranger just decoy and female one is the true leader

Tbh I’m still kinda mad that they made Gokaiger a continuation of Megaforce instead of making it into it’s own thing with a new cast 😭 it could have been such an amazing season lol

If it’s footage of them in suits more likely than not it’s Japan footage. PR did not adapt some shows so they could have shows take multiple years like MMPR, samurai, dino charge, etc. Now (unless somethings changed) the ability to use suits and things will expire after this years show cosmic fury resulting in the need for American seasons to find ways to continue continuity without adapting new sentai.

They didnt do Trini because in Japan.. it was a boy called Boi

It honestly depends season to season what is or isn't American footage. Obviously everything out of suit and some villains are original and others are recast if they're human. Battliezers originated in the US but are now in Sentai and some of the bikes are us originals.

Female ShinkenRed Kaoru Shiba gets injured and makes Takeru the 19th head of the Shiba clan by adopting him as her son and he becomes ShinkenRed again

16:12 Raptor is from Kyuranger which is now about to be adapted as Cosmic Fury. Sadly a lot of the sentai versions visual elements are being removed (It was a 12 man team that included robots, aliens and a literal child among the other humans) and being replaced with a standard 5-6 man team with new original suits so in theory it might be the most "original" power rangers adaptation.

Technically it won't be an adaptation, as the only thing Hasbro will reuse from Super Sentai is the Zords

Someday you’ll used to it by calling them Sentai and for beginners, my only recommendation to you is to watch: 1. Hurricanger (Ninja Storm) 2. Abaranger (Dino Thunder) 3. Dekaranger (SPD) *i hope you survive pretty well when you see Boss Kruger 4. Magiranger (Mystic Force) 5. Gekiranger (Jungle Fury) 6. Shinkenger (Samurai) 7. Gokaiger (Super Megaforce) 8. Toqger (the train ranger where PR skip) 9. Dairanger (where the white ranger originally being made but the other were skipped) 10. Kakuranger (a human ninja based on ninja culture)

I guess the people wear the colors of the ranges to show the viewing audience what color they suppose to be. I watched MMPR a long time ago when I was a kid.

Out of all of the seasons even with the deviations, RPM is the most original as GO-Onger was a gag season while RPM was basically Terminator mixed with Mad Maxx. The transformations are original. The Sentais plot doesn't involve most of humanity being dead. Etc. Honestly I prefer RPM to GO-Onger even if that one has its charm.

All the Super Sentai series are separate while all of Power Rangers are supposed to be in a single continuity.

I super recommend watching Dairanger, Timeranger, Magiranger, Gekiranger, Shinkenger, Gokaiger and Go Busters. They are my favorite seasons of Super Sentai. And the more seasons you watch before you watch Gokaiger, the better.

You should check out the sister (actually first series) Kamen (Masked) Rider. Also, as of this recording....you missed the last two: Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger (a team of robots; and yes Washi Pink was a Robot, Raptor 283) and the latest outgoing series, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. That last series REALLY bucks the standard Super Sentai/Power Rangers trend.

Super Sentai is one of Japanese culture so not all henshin/transform, roll call, the gadget etc can adapted to Power Rangers.

@@AllThingsDope007ok so I use a program called Filmora wondershare and I’ll screen record whatever I’m watching then I’ll record myself watching the recording and when I edit I match the two up and I’ll just minimize me or the recording

I really enjoy the Super Sentai version even more than some seasons of the Power Rangers. For example the Super Megaforce was a complete fail, but the Gokaiger is really good, starting that it is its own theme based on pirates that transform in the pirates version by borrowing the powers of all previous themes. Another interesting season is the one of 16:37 Lupinranger vs Patranger, its two teams of rangers sharing the season and the theme is police vs phantom thieves while the six rangers face the evil of the season. With the Dino Thunder Japanese counterpart, it is the only team that we saw in the American version in an episode called Lost in Translation where the Power Rangers watches an episode of the Super Sentai

I like to make a force it was one of the first Power Rangers series I watched fully

Midoninger is exclusive to the Japanese Version, this Ranger does not exist in Ninja Steel.

If you enjoyed the Super Sentai series, I recommend you check out the Kamen Rider series, both Male and Female riders. There are crossover episodes or movies with Super Sentai rangers that are available to watch on KZread as well.

You’d be surprised at what Original Concepts and Rangers that Power Rangers came up with! Hell, Super Sentai even references Power Rangers at times :)

As well as a few times used certain ideas from them. Heck, Dekaranger didn't have a Battleizer, but for one of their crossover movies, they did add it in due to how popular SPD was to Japan.

Power Rangers show is a remake version of Super Sentai. That's why every Power Ranger series has original Power Rangers series

Dino thunder was entirely America footage almost, outside of the megazard and ranger vs ranger battles. They tried to be as original as possible with it

In japan the legendary rangers was before Gokaiger started not the ending scene

Not all super sentai was adapted in power rangers like Ressha Sentai ToQger, the one with the train. In this roll call compilation, you don't have the last three super sentai released in Japan. Kikai sentai Zenkaiger is also an anniversary super sentai season 45th anniversary Avataro sentai Dobrothers Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger the next power ranger series will be cosmic fury adapted from Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger and will be named cosmic fury

Answer is: they don't turn their morphers on lost galaxy. and yes, that was beast morphers. 12:48 , the morphers in ninja steel are like huge stars
