Everyone are playing so well as a team Damian kicking has been spot on tonight and again showing the way inside his 22 to spark a long range attack leading to a try. and a short chip over the top bamboozled the defence for yet another. Back at 10 tonight to pass a milestone, highest points record for the Chief's. Well done Damian & team. Don't care that some people have their doubts about him They can't leave him out of the All Blacks he's too good a player and in great form.

Loss of Sevu can now be replaced by Narawa.

If we are talking form and performance then surely D-Mac has one arm in the sleeve of the ABs 10 jersey.

Chiefs are different gravy this season. The ABs have selection headaches (lucky them) with DMAC, ALB, Stevenson and Weber just to name a few. All the talk for the WC seems to be Ireland and France, but you can't EVER dismiss the ABs - The Boks can also beat anyone and Aus could be dark horses later this year. It's going to be so competitive with four or perhaps five teams who can realistically win it. I f*cking love rugby.

NPC titles with Canterbury, under 20 world title with the Junior team, 6 super titles on the trot, and beat the ABs XV last year with the Baabaas. His coaching tree is pretty epic as well, Leon McDonald has turned the blues into title contenders, Ronan O’Gara is the head of rugby at La Rochelle, Brad Moar was with the ABs, Andrew Goodman is an assistant at Leinster, Jason Ryan turned the ABs forwards into leading pack again.

There was some brilliant footy in that.

Love seeing DMac playing so well.

The thing with this Chiefs team is they haven't even put together a full 80min game they drift in and out of games at times but are still winning them comfortably.....up up the Chiefs

Looks that way. Good coach and core group of young guns. 3 other treams losing head coaches and experienced players. Plus no doubt alot of Chiefs will be picked in the AB's next couple of years due to form. Future looks bright. I'm a Crusdaers fan but gotta acknowledge greatness.

Canadian rugby fan here. i have a question for NZ fans. Why is attendance so seemingly low at Super Rugby matches? I know in AUS it isn't great because NRL and AFL are so popular there, but I would've assumed much stronger turnout than what I see at matches held in NZ. Maybe some of it is perception, as the stadiums are quite large. It does seem less than when I first started following SR years ago though. Am I totally out to lunch? if not, what are the reasons for this?

Last week at the Chief's home in Hamilton it was a full house .. so it's not always small crowds. I guess pay TV doesn't help as you can watch from the comfort of your home. There is so much sport on rugby has to compete with everything else. Let's not forget the cost of living in NZ is crippling for a lot of people and many I guess can't afford tickets for the family, fuel costs etc.

@@nzrockdj Really appreciate this response! Yeah, some games are absolutely more full than others. I do remember reading that NZ tends to have their teams play in larger stadiums than say the English premiership, which gives the perception of lots of empty seats. I always find the disconnect between attendance at Six Nations and TRC and the attendance at club competition games so interesting. Like, Six Nations has one of the highest average attendances in all of world sport. I guess nothing puts bums in seats more than a good nationalistic rivalry! haha. Anyways, thanks! Appreciate it.

The Highlanders haven't been winning aswell so their fan base aren't really keen to go to the game and support a losing cause,if u want to get huge crowds u gotta win and play entertaining rugby,the Chiefs a couple of years ago were losing all the time couldn't win a game so no one turned up to their games at home but now it's a full house coz they're killing everyone and can't be beaten

Stevenson is on fire atm but hopefully if chosen for the ABs, he doesn't turn out to be a dud at international level like Havili has been. No hate towards David, I'm a fan and he's brilliant at Super Rugby level but he needed to be brilliant for the ABs but wasn't. Jordie is the future of the ABs 2nd Five position and is the leading contender to start there permanently.

McKenzie making a case for NZs best player right now

I KNOW the Chiefs play above the level where they could contest the Ranfurly shield, but with performances like that, I was thinking they could win the triple like Auckland did the year they did it before I realized what I was thinking about COULDN'T BE DONE. But that's what they look like to me: not JUST a team that could win Super Rugby undefeated but a team that, if they could contest it, take out the shield NO RISK. They're that good this year.
