​@@wjbushjr Basically a character made by the creators of Ultraman. The show was made similarly to Ultraman too. Also created during the golden days of tokusetsu. Was then localized and Americanized in the West under the name Super Samurai Syber Squad. The Gridman series was forgotten for a time, only mentioned a few times here and there. That was until the former animators of Gurren Lagann (Studio Trigger) remade it into an anime called SSSS. Gridman. Both the original and SSSS. Gridman are fantastic and both are worth a watch.

27:08 magic knight rayearth combination attack was beautiful they even timed it with the music, like a animation/music dance, the music alone was a piece of art, probably purchasing this game for that attack alone.

Guy literally summons a black hole, lessthan a thousand damage, Old guys rams his ship to the enemy, tens and thousands of damage.

There is always going to be at least one or three series in each SRW that is going to have the largest animation budget. Trigger wants to make sure Gridman is in good hands.

There's also the Hypsistos, but then again, they only reused the animation from Z3 (where it probably took a ton of the budget, which is justifiable because the final boss can't be a slouch)

I'm glad knights and magic finally got to join Super Robot Wars

Some of these sequences made me tear up a bit. Not even lying. I haven't even seen Mazinger or Gaogaigar vs Betterman and I actually choked up watching them.

@@suchiuomizu Hell, the manga isn't anywhere CLOSE to the GGGvB original content like G&J H&H or the Goldion Double Hammer. So you can't even see it in picture yet. Only stills at best.

@@ishicucked they'll still fail XD, Amuro managed to stop a meteor almost by himself, although he died in the process. In A Portable, the team manages to stop the 0083 colony drop which was supposed to happen in the anime to trigger the events for Z Gundam. So Earth's basically safe from any celestial body/megastructure drop.

I'm really hoping for a SRW game with Macross in it again now that Macross is finally worldwide.

59:22 Bandai is either hinting that there would be a mass production Nu Gundam soon in Bandai's Gundam Model Kit/Figure Lineup or just baiting us with a Mass Production Nu-Gundam

Kind of wish there was a combination attack between Mikazuki and Van where Mika just swung around Dann in sword form, cause honestly I could see Mika doing that

I've got to get around to actually finishing the Z series. I did 1 and both parts of 2, can't remember how far I got in 3. I consider having to go through that 9 times (though only done 3 so far) punishment for neglecting him.

Love the 2d sprite presentation. It really adds to the magic. SD gundam G rays lost some Going 3d.

I’ve a thought. Why has Zoids never made it into this series? They’re mechs, too. Sure, they’re not world destroyers, but the Liger Zero is still the best beast style robot ever made.

SRX and Cybuster were the pre-order bonuses. I'm not sure if it was like the last several games, where you can get them later without the DLC.

Easy to hit, and among the cast, it's the squishiest among the super robots. That's why you need to plan on when to cast the right skill among the five pilots if you ever deploy Combattler. You can make Combattler somewhat tanky by giving it Armor boosting parts and have it equip the Orgone Cloud part that you'll get from the AOS.

It’s a standalone story. But it is also a crossover mashup of the plots of a lot of other mecha anime, so you WILL get spoilers, and considering this game contains mecha anime from the 70s all the way to 2018, there is definitely spoilers from shows you’ve not yet watched. That said, if you don’t mind spoilers, finding out about mecha anime that you’ve never even heard of before is part of the fun.

@@KingCasual1986 just so you know, SRW30 isn't called that because it's the 30th game as your comment implies. It's the 30th anniversary game. It's actually the 64th game in the series if we're counting ports and remakes like alpha portable. Not counting those it's the 46th.

It would have been nice if the name the name of the anime is included, but it's still an awesome video.

Appreciate the video, but man you have to work on organizing these. Would help cut down on the few repeats too (and no, not the ones where a character is still an enemy).

Van's Jp voice actor is awesome, but his battle quotes aren't the same without David Vincent's voice behind them.

Because the original Tokusatsu run of Gridman was created by the Makers of Ultraman. The resurgence in Gridman's popularity is due to a new Animated Series made by the team behind Gurren Lagann, _SSSS Gridman._

Although to be fair, Mazinger, Getter and of course Gurren Lagann set the coolness bar pretty high for the other mecha shows.
