AS332 / H215 Super Puma
The Finnish Border Guard acquired three French middle-weight Aérospatiale (now Airbus Helicopters) AS332 Super Puma helicopters in mid-1980’s, to replace the older MI-8 helicopters in air-sea rescue operations. In 2016, the Air Patrol Squadron acquired two more updated H215-versions of the Super Puma, making the total amount five. The aim of the Air Patrol Squadron is to update the oldest three Super Pumas into the H215 -version within three years.
The Super Pumas have served the Finnish Border Guard’s rescue operations for three decades. They saved dozens of passengers when the M/S Estonia sank in Baltic Sea in 1994, in the second-deadliest European shipwreck disaster after Titanic. The Super Pumas have also been used for putting out forest fires, for instance the widespread wildfires in Tammela in 1997.
The crew of the Air Patrol Squadron Super Puma helicopters include five members, and they can carry up to 20 passengers. The helicopters are equipped with, for instance, medical and air-to-sea rescue equipment, night-vision equipment, thermal camera, search radar, searchlight, two rescue winches and forest fire extinguishing equipment.

Rajavartiolaitos hankki kolme ranskalaisen Aérospatialen (nykyisin Airbus Helicopters) suunnittelemaa keskiraskasta AS332 Super Puma -helikopteria 1980-luvun lopulla korvaamaan MI-8-helikoptereita meripelastustehtävissä. Vuonna 2016 Vartiolentolaivue hankki lisäksi kaksi Super Puman päivitettyä H215-versiota. Vartiolentolaivueella on tällä hetkellä käytössään kaikkiaan viisi Super Pumaa. Vartiolentolaivueen tarkoituksena on päivittää 1980-luvulla hankitut helikopterit H215-versioon kolmen vuoden sisällä.
Super Pumat ovat palvelleet Rajavartiolaitoksen pelastustoiminnassa jo kolmen vuosikymmenen ajan. Helikoptereilla pelastettiin muun muassa kymmeniä veden varaan joutuneita matkustajia autolautta Estonian upotessa vuonna 1994. Lisäksi helikoptereita on käytetty metsäpalojen sammutuksiin, muun muassa Tammelan laajalle levinneissä metsäpaloissa vuonna 1997.
Kaivopuiston lentonäytös on Suomen Ilmailumuseon järjestämä ilmailun suurtapahtuma, joka esittelee suomalaisen ilmailun historiaa, nykypäivää ja tulevaisuutta. Näytös lennetään Helsingissä, Kaivopuiston edustalla perjantai-iltana 9.6.2017. Esiintyjinä nähdään ainutlaatuinen kattaus ilma-aluksia, jotka edustavat suomalaisen ilmailun eri aikakausia. Tapahtuma levittäytyy maalle, merelle ja ilmatilaan.
Kaivopuiston lentonäytös on Ilmailumuseon Suomi lentää! -kampanjan päätapahtuma. Kampanja on osa Suomi 100 -juhlavuoden virallista ohjelmaa.
The Kaivopuisto Air Show is a huge, aviation-themed event, organized by the Finnish Aviation Museum. The Show will be held on Friday Night, June 9th 2017. Various aircraft types representing the past, present and future of Finnish Aviation will take part in the Show. The Show will take place in the air, land and sea.
The Kaivopuisto Air Show is organized by the Finnish Aviation Museum. The Finnish Aviation Museum is a national specialized museum of aviation, and one of six aviation-themed museums in Finland.
Kaivopuisto has a long tradition as a venue of popular Air Shows. Many Air Shows and other aviation-themed public events were held in the area, especially during the early years of Finnish Independence, to promote the Art of Flying for the public. The last large-scale Air Show of several participants was held in 1955, but many individual aerobatic groups, both from Finland and abroad, have performed in the area since.
The Air Shows of the early 1950’s featured frontline fighters of the Finnish Air Force - Messerschmitts and Vampires - fearless wing walkers and other performers.
