I've used a similar technique w/G.I. Joe figures (take apart 2 of the same figure and take the best parts from each to make NM one). You can then sell the other for a few bucks and offset the cost. I'm close to completing my Super Powers collection (not collecting the entire line, just my faves) and I want to grab a Batmobile. Gonna definitely reference this vid when I get one so I can take it apart and give it a cleaning. Thanks!

With Kenner Toys, it is very easy to swap parts to complete vehicles. I recently bought two vintage TIE fighters at a toy show that each had different problems/missing parts. The cost to buy theses junkers was small, but after I swapped out parts, I has a complete toy vehicle. I encourage everyone to look past the faults of broken/incomplete toys and purchase them for future parts. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.

That was really nice, another vintage restorer is great. I have fixed many vintage toys and another perspective on fixing is always a good thing. Join some of the vintage toy collectors groups on Facebook and you can get parts, toys and all sorts that you need. Oolas booty, Echo base vintage Star Wars are just a couple. You can also sell your spare parts to get some money back to do more restorations.

I will join the groups that you mentioned; My cleaning technique using an automotive cleaning product is simply that they where designed for safe use on plastic car parts. I'm think that hot soapy water is a great cleaner too, but for figures that are hollow, it seems that residual moisture would most likely be left behind, especially on vintage Star Wars figures. That could lead to future problem like we find on toys today that had been played with in the bathtub or outdoors in inclement conditions. Not to say that I have never given an action figure a bath, but i would do so only if the conditions where warranted. Thanks for watching and suggesting my addition to some cool new toy collecting avenues.

John Wild no problem, Toys of Tatooine is great for vintage Star Wars but he only sells stuff but I have bought loads off him, Jabbas court is good as well. I found Vodka is good for light cleaning decals, dose not stain or damage paper, cotton bud and small amounts lifts grime.

Awesome restoration of the beautiful Super Powers Batmobile from Kenner. I have a lot of these action figures still and this Batmobile. I have it disassembled and I've been trying to get the springs for the action mechanism. Mine lost all of them. What type of springs would you recommend #JohnWild? Size and diameter wise?

Hi nice video i decided to pull a batmobile apart last night and i found your video very informing as i got stuck with where some parts went.Everything went fine after watching your video only concern is that when putting the top cover back on it doesnt seem to sit flush with the bottom part i couldn't quite understand what you ment about the top part had to sit on the battering ram and it doesnt seem to sit flush and theres abit of a gap between the the car is this normal or shold the top part sit in the bottom part flush its like the pegs on the front of the top part wont go and lower so im sure if ive done it right i tried so many times now and it still has the gap am i doing something incorrectly or is this just the design cheers and thankyou

I think there is a gap between the top and bottom of the vehicle. It's not flush that I recall. No open gaps, just the top and bottom aren't flush on the sides across the whole car. Hope this helps.

You need to look up NOVUS PLASTIC SHINE AND REPAIR. Pick up the three bottles plus some cloths online for less than 15 bucks. I use it on so many GI Joe vehicles, even the windows will shine up so much more than this. Armor All is honestly a bad chemical to use on plastic, over time continuous will eat away the finish. I wish someone had told you this five years ago when you made the video.

You are correct. I could have just bought a mint complete Batmobile for around the same price. I found these two broken ones in quick succession. I was showing in this video how the action features worked and my cleaning technique. The parts to this toy are unique and the only way to repair one is to find replacement parts. This would be a video for a collector who wants to repair their childhood toy. Thanks for watching.
