Zack There is no code allowing her to be feed as she acks as npc more than an object. So yoshi will either consume her but you can see her or peach will be droped. I'm assuming the second one but i dont have the command prompt for SMS so I can't figure it oit right now

someone write a Mario fanfiction about this "Mario was tired of peach getting taken and taken again. So one vacation, her kidnapper stupidly ran into a wall and dropped her. This gave Mario his chance to toss her under the face of the Earth and into the lower Mantle and finally enjoy the new peace of the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser had no one to steal, so they went back to playing tennis and kart racing."

"For example, we can make him run into a wall and drop Peach, and from there you can actually pick her up and kidnap her ourselves." the fact that he said that with a straight face while Peach is freaking out during this experimentation made it even funnier.

Since Shadow Mario and Mario share similar code, what happens if you force Shadow Mario to interact with scripted events intended for Mario? Such as hatching Yoshi and riding him, picking up a nozzle, picking up FLUD at the airstrip, making him die in the same way as Mario, giving Shadow Mario coins/Shines, I could go on but you get the point, so many ideas...

I imagine since you can talk to her as an npc that prompt is actually to talk to her, but since she is in her pick-upable state the prompt get's ignored in favour of just picking her up. So not even the game wants to hear her open her mouth

Most likely it was never intended to happen or seen as a possibility at the time so they avoided the extra work and left it so that for one cutscene Peach is able to be picked up.

Tom Lawson Since Shadow and Regular Mario share code, having Peach act as an item and having the cutscene instruct Shadow M. what input to register is much easier than an entire set of code to handle the event. And since your not meant to access this, I guess Nintendo took the short cut either way. Makes sense.

Is there any way to skip the Mecha-Bowser Boss fight? I'm borrowing a copy of Sunshine from a friend, but he scratched the disc, and now, the cutscene after the fight makes the game crash. There probably isn't a way, but if there is, I'll happily do whatever it is before finding a way to fix the disc.

+XYZinferno You can't skip the fight, but you can skip the cutscene by pausing and exitinf area just before the cutscene starts. Sounds crazy but it actually works.

If you were able to turn shadow mario during the cutscene where he is supposed to pick up peach, which supposedly should be the B to do so, I wonder if you could make him talk to Toadsworth.

A cool one similar to this is Dark Link on Zelda: Ocarina of Time. There's a cheat code to replace actors and a common one is to replace one of the Kokiri kids with Dark Link so you can battle him in the forest instead of his usual miniboss room. Like Shadow Mario, Dark Link is essentially an AI-controlled second player that shares a lot of Link's code. So when you get him into the deep water, Dark Link can swim, and when he backflip away from you, he'll dive underwater instead, which is what the A button does for Link while swimming. Or if you get him on the opposite side of a short fence and he's trying to walk toward you, he'll climb onto the fence and jump off the other side -- just like the player would if you held the control stick.
