The fireball shooting is limited to 2 on screen, so if you shoot them offscreen you remove any limitations and can fire every other frame (have to release a button to be able to press it again). Don't see how pausing would change anything

It's capped at 30fps (fireballs per second) because the game is running at 60fps (frames per second), and in order to detect another button press, the game needs to detect a non-press for at least one frame. So 30 button presses + 30 non-button presses uses up all 60 frames, hence is the hardcap on fireballs per second. Pause buffering wouldn't get around that.

There are other castles. They lead to the airships. Then you go back to the castles to change the kings back to normal.
