The fact that you’ve reacted to Me and Blue Tomorrow makes you a proper fan already than most “ELFs” today. I always thought their older works to be very nostalgic and you can just feel how much they’ve evolved as a group. as you’ve said this is definitely once in a lifetime sort of thing - the first big korean boyband, number wise, yet they’re all seems like a really proper and intentional as a band despite being the so called project group. Each member seems to understand their role so well, more than just being in the position/s. I don’t think super junior could believe this themselves, but they’re a proper group - a random bunch of people who are meant to fill in each others weaknesses. I have to specially mention leeteuk’s leadership role here a little bit as well. Think their longevity were thanks to his initial efforts as well in communicating with the label to transform them into a permanent group, and in later years, to involve trying to prolong the group’s longevity as much as they can, signing up series of good contract renewals, and owning bits of stocks, that seems to have benefited their career so much in their recent years. and lastly, negotiations that allowed them to have their own label - label SJ. leeteuk isn’t much of a singer as he is a television host but boy is he fundamental to Super Junior. think they’re a bunch of decent lads that are really good at what they’re doing, while also good at doing businesses as well. props to them!

I love how you pointed out that Super Junior's performances have musical theatre elements. When I got into them, I quite enjoyed their live performances, and I tried to figure out what really stood out. It is this, that when you watch them perform on stage, it's like you're watching a complete show. It's really a theatre. Devil, Shirt, Swing and Runaway are just some examples of this.

I second this. I'd never made that connection, but now I've heard that and read this comment I realise my fave performances of theirs are these kind of songs!

Being Super Junior is already exhausting. have to sing in more languages😂 The most tiring is D&E and K.R.Y, a sub-unit that frequently tour abroad.

whatever d&e share, all i know is that i want something like that. the reassurance that youd always have this person to back you up, your soul would never be lonely and that you'd ALWAYS have a best friend, anywhere life takes both of you. that is such a rare thing to get, and i am also really happy they found and have each other 🥺

You’re so right. Super Junior is pretty much a musical theater troupe. They really do it all. SJ-T and SJ-H are adorable. They do revisit songs from T and H in their concerts. They’re light hearted and silly but with killer vocals still. OMG how I miss Super Junior - M!!! If you want a Peter Cetera-ish ballad from SJ-M, check out “Destiny”. Really though….ANYTHING from SJ-M is wonderful. (I mean…they’re Super Junior so….) Oh D&E…’Growing Pains’ I think will always be one of my all time favorites. I think you should check out ‘Winter Love’ from the same concert though. They’ve never released that song on an album. Donghae says that will never happen and it’s only performed at concerts. It’s a very special song for them. They wrote it together before their enlistments. I love how you’ve been able to vocalize the thoughts I’ve had about these boys…men…through all these years. Super Junior has done so many things as a group that sometimes I forget valuable content like the one you're watching... Thanks to your reactions I'm reliving many emotions and remembering why I'm an ELF. We are lucky to have Super Junior active, I appreciate that although I became a fan only almost 5 years ago they are still present and leading among more recent groups. I saw someone mention Runaway, that's another that's lots of fun live 👏. That Growing Pains version is amazing, I'd love to go to a D&E show 💙💙💙. I decided this year that if they/SuJu announce shows in Korea/any other English speaking country I will go there for it and have a few days to chill after or something. They're the only band I would travel abroad alone to see because I know the chances of them coming to the UK are so slim and my life is incomplete if I never see them 💔 would totally be worth it
