yeah, SPY is definitely special even for super junior and elfs 😂 super junior even said that it's a forbidden song. they hate performing it because they couldn't remember the choreography anymore, it's too complicated. elfs even tease suju because of that. and few days ago eunhyuk asked elfs why do we like SPY, do elfs like everything suju hates? 😂

Black Suit is when Yesung felt like he had to do 100% MORE than usual, since the other vocals (the maknaes kyu and wookie were in military). If you have times to check on SUPER JUNIOR RETURN, you'll see Yesung cried while saying to the members: "I really miss you all, to the limit like I don't want to do solo again, I feel so lonely when I have to perform without all of you."

Mr. Simple sounds like Sorry Sorry because it, Sorry Sorry, and Bonamana are part of group of songs with the "SJ funky" sound. It's a sound that was developed by SM for Super Junior. So you weren't hearing things, lol. Oh, it was Shindong! Shindong was the one missing from Devil because he started his military service then. So there actually isn't a main title track without Hyukjae, Donghae, or Siwon. There was a point in time where Shindong, Sungmin, Hyukjae, Donghae, and Siwon were all in the military, so the group didn't put out any title tracks as a whole for almost two years. Even as Shindong got out, there were scandals happening with Kangin and Sungmin, so they had to hold off on their comeback. Before they could, it was Ryeowook's turn to go into the military, and Kyuhyun soon after. So when it came time for the SMtown concert (a concert held with all the current SM groups every year), they did a stage with just 4 members and it was hard on them. Hyukjae was the next to be released, then Donghae two days later, and Siwon a month after that. When Hyuk got out was when they started planning for the next title track (Black Suit). You can actually watch the whole process of them making this album as well as other shenanigans, on their reality show "SJ Returns" season 1. It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it!

Devil choreo is sooooo fun (second most fun choreo imo, house party is number one just with the sheer amount of jumping, details and freestyling in each performance). they have this little freestyle section where kangin or shindong, leeteuk and eunhyuk will come up with a small moves and everyone has to follow it. it was fun, they even go crawlinh on the floor and everything on stages 😂

Hyukjae is on everything 😅 Because when he was in military, he went with Donghae and Siwon (2015-2017) and Shindong was still on military until late 2015, so Super Junior kinda went on hiatus for 2 years when EunSiHae was on military, Black Suit is their comeback song after EunSiHae come back from military. I love the way you notice the members by their voices, especially Yesung, rather by their looks. I agree with you about Yesung’s voice since I also got the same thought as well when I first heard his voice and he was the one who bring me to kpop music and to suju. He was the most overlooked member in the early day because he was considered a “non visual” member ,although many came to acknowledge his visual in black suit era, hence to this day he really has low confident about his look which make elf, especially his bias, sad. Thus for me to hear you talk and acknowledge him by his voice really makes me happy, you have my gratitude.

I think Hyukjae is in every SJ title track. Hyukjae, Donghae, Siwon, and our beloved leader, Leeteuk, are the ones in all SJ albums.

At one point in time SM tried to get the genre SJFunky going after the success of Sorry Sorry so for the next few albums they had Bonamana,Mr Simple and Sexy Free & Single as title tracks. Hence why people who don't listen to SJ's discography thinks all their songs sound the same or that they only do that type of dance genre. What a shame coz they're really missing out on SJ ballads as you well know 😊

But just like what she said about not wanting to like Mr. Simple but liking anyway hahah every time any of those songs comes on I always end up singing along and bopping. They only guesting on shows and perform their old songs.. The lowest number was 4 members, which they performed on SMTOWN when the triplets and maknaes (Kyu + Wookie) in military... Black suit was the comeback after the triplet finishes their military service :)

The part you liked in Devil is such a fun section of the song. SUJU always like to make it fun and do something different for every stage. "SUPER JUNIOR Devil Freestyle Dance Revolution" this is the title of a yt video that compiles so many of their iconic dance along choreo XD. For House Party Shindong and Leeteuk do something similar but Devil is so much more fun because all the members are included in the dance.

If you want suju in a husky tone maybe you should check their song, "Simply Beautiful". That song was sang by Yesung, Kangin, Siwon, Kyuhyun and Ryeowook. I think you'd go crazy on Yesung's voice in that song. Also check "Hit Me Up" too. These songs are incredibly good!

To commemorate their 10th anniversary, SJ wanted to release an album as a gift for their fans, but SM didn't allow them, so they had to use their own money n network to produce the album n the Devil MV. They even succeeded in uploading the MV on YT without SM's knowledge but SM took it down n added SM logo on it then reuploaded it on YT. They didn'T have a cameback when leeteuk was in army (after Sexy free & single to Mamacita) and before Hyukjae Siwon, Donghae joined the army Shindong and Sungmin was already in army, so for a while SJ had 5 members in army because of that they didn't have a comeback at that time after devil (2015) to black suit (2017) so in fact they only had comeback when Heechul, Shindong, Kangin, Sungmin, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun were absent. Leeteuk, Donghae, Siwon, Eunhyuk were in all camebacks and concerts.

Yes to this performance! The same channel also has one of devil/sorry sorry/bonamana/miracle. It’s so good and Yesung became my official bias wrecker in that one.

You just opened a pandora box. These tracks are one of a kind. It's just missed one, A-cha is my ultimate favorite. Also, Eunhyuk is in every MV is because at the time he enlisted, other members are also enlisted on the almost same period of time(Siwon, and Donghae) therefore they didn't have a comeback in between Magic and Blacksuit I guess. And when 3 of them came back, they did Blacksuit while Ryeowook and Kyuhyun were still in military.

You know you're in deep when Eunhyuk becomes Hyukjae to you. 😂 I've been enjoying your SJ reactions and I love them all! Your intuitions about them are so startlingly on point sometimes; it's weirds and delightful at the same time. 😅

Hyukjae, Donghae and Siwon have never missed a comeback. As the main dancer, he is always in front most of the time so yes, you will notice right away if he’s not in it. Donghae and Siwon didn’t miss a comeback, too. Hyukjae and Donghae enlisted just 2 days apart and Siwon a month after them. They went on hiatus while they’re enlisted and came back with Blacksuit even though Siwon didn’t do the promotions for it.

Alright I am so excited you got to these!!! To answer your question at the end yes all these songs have live performances, they were all title tracks so they have comeback stages as well. What you said about Yesung’s voice, spot on and I loved. In Devil I believe Sungmin was enlisted. As for will he ever come back to the group…I keep hoping. Oh and yes Hyukjae has been in everything, he didn’t even miss any tours. (Some shows due to other schedules but tours as whole he was there for them all). Blacksuit is just my personal favourite. It's my first suju song/comeback I listened to after being an official "ELF" (well, excluding sorry sorry which I listened to back when it was released, it was such a HUGE song around asia) and I just fell in love with them because of that. Scene stealer is another song from the same album as Black Suit that I also enjoyed. Well, I may be biased as Yesung's voice is just my favourite. So jearing mamacita with him during ss7 show was such a dream come true. His adlibs, his voice, just total perfection. 3:25 Super Junior did not release albums/songs when EunSiHae - Hyukjae Siwon Donghae were in the military. However they did tour with Super Junior Fanmeeting with the remaining members (Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Kangin, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun). Then when EunSiHae got released (the trio got into and released from millitary almost at the same time.) Super Junior released "Black Suit" (Play Album).

Devil is my fave from this list, it was a special gift for their anniversary. And the live version is so fun with the ever changing dance break! There is a version with a live band too which is great

Out of all this songs my favorite one would be Black Suit! Its always fun especially when they performing Black suit live in award show that time, the time when we have to wait for Heechul to coming in and screaming on top of our lungs when he did his part, and then ofc D&E dance break, but my most favorite part was when they finally sing it with 9 members!!! it just felt like finally this song is complete. You were right tho some of Yesung's part goes to Kyu and Wookie ^^ I want to recommend you Black suit live performance but there are tooo many of it that is my fav from the 32nd Golden Disk Award, The Japan A-nation concert, Seoul Music Award 2018, Mnet comeback special (with 9 members), and SS7 version, soo.. sorry 😅😅

Yes you're right, devil performance is sooo good and chaotic 😁😁. They did random dances right when you say 'when they do that live, that must be so good' 🤭 Please react devil performance video and live performance. Some random fact, devil is suju's album with their own money, cz actually SM dont give them permission to make an album. But they 'rebel' cz that year is 10th anniversary of their debut, and they want to give something for elf ☺️ *cmiiw

Hyukjae, Siwon, and Donghae all enlisted in 2015 and came back in 2017. since Ryeowook and Kyuhyun enlisted in 2016, Suju went into Hiatus when EunSiHae enlisted and made their comeback when they got out as well. They are never missing in any Suju comeback XD. Also Hyukjae is in every Super Junior Sub-Unit, except K.R.Y. XD he was also in a experimental SM Unit called Younique along with Henry (title: Max Step) and there was also a time where SM made vocal and dance units. SM THE BALLAD and SM THE PERFORMANCE. Yesung, Zhoumi, and Kyuhyun were part of SM the Ballad and participated in some songs. Hyukjae and Donghae Danced in SM the Performance. if we count the amount of times Hyukjae has debuted in Kpop units/subunits: 7

Reciently eunhyuk did a live and he was watching old music videos and at some point they played spy and his face was so funny. He said we love spy because they hate it 😂😂😂 he is not lying tho hahaha.

I thought of this song when you said you wanted to hear more darker voices: Simply Beautiful. It’s actually K.R.Y. with Kangin and Siwon, so that’s 3 husky voices out of 5 (no Shindong, though). There’s no MV or live perf, just a lyric video, but the song is really good. I think you’ll like the huskier and raspier than usual Yesung, and even Siwon sounds more velvety here.

To be honest, I don’t think Sungmin will comeback to SJ. It’s been so long since the controversies and it’s seem that it still doesn’t change. K-elfs still don’t welcome him. He’s tried to release solo songs (Maybe LabelSJ want to check the feedback too) but it’s didn’t go well. And now he has focused on musical which is go well. Moreover he can enjoy work with his wife🤭 P.S. it doesn’t mean that they can’t date or marry, RW is also dating now and there’s no problem. But in case of Sungmin, he and his wife … it’s long stories. If that rumors are true, it would involve fans, members, the company and also his family. Btw he’s good husband, he love his wife so so much.

hahaha yes eunhyuk jae and donghae is in everything honestly and eunhyuk is in every sub unit except KRY, and even the members always tease him they admitted that hyuk is an SJ ACE, when eunsihae was in the military the grp didn't release album so that was it is

the only members that are present in all albums are Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Donghae and Siwon.. when Leeteuk enlisted, that's the time when SJM where very active both in Korea and China and they also have SS5 (the longest tour they had about 1.5yrs). EunSiHae enlisted almost at the same time in Oct and Nov 2015 (D&E enlisted 2 days apart). Although, Shindong and Sungmin both enlisted in March 2015 they weren't able to join the 10th Anniv album (Devil) release in July 2015. Because there's 5 members who enlisted in 2015 and Ryeowook in 2016, so they went on hiatus until EunSiHae's discharge in Summer 2017..

Wow you reacted to 5 powerhouse and fan favorite title tracks at once. Mr. Simple, along with Sorry Sorry and Bonamana (pls also react to this 🙏) are the songs when suju was at their peak. They all have that addictive and repetitive tune that was a trend that time. Spy is suju's banned song lol. The choreo and formation is complicated so every time they are asked to dance it, they just pass on it. Mamacita was during Yesung's enlistment. If only Yesung was there, that would have been the best era since Sungmin and Kangin are still there. Devil performances are so much fun (blonde Heechul perfoming that song is a killer 😍), a quite different vibe compared to the MV. That song was loved by korean gp, 5(?) years after its release. Black suit is also my personal favorite. The vocals and choreo are simply the best! Yesung and Siwon owned that song. It suits best their voices. What I find with SJ songs is that even if a particular song is not my cup of tea, the song will still work because of suju voices. Their voices have that uniqueness and harmony. Also, I read somewhere that Super Junior funded the whole comeback for Devil (out of their own pockets) because SM refused to do anything for their 10th anniversary. They had to do this in secret initially.

I love all of your Super Junior reactions and insights. I've been ELF since January 2010. They are my ultimate go to for music and well being. That said, since you love good vocals and you mentioned hearing an Arabic song like Mr. Simple, if you don't know it yet, I recommend B.I.G. 비아이지 (Boys In Groove) - Illusion. They have a Korean version and an Arabic version and both are phenomenal. Other B.IG. song recommends (everything really, lol but no I'll say just 3 more) - Taola, 1 2 3, and Aphrodite. Another group I believe you would enjoy vocally is named 100% . Song recommends for 100% - Bad Boy, Beat, and Better Day. Now back to topic Super Junior - my all time favourite song with 13 voices and a 14th (Henry) on violin is Don't Don. Or 11(?, there were members missing by then) voices live in SS3 including Zhoumi and Henry (amazing performance). My favourite mv of this reaction video is Black Suit. It stands out for me as the one mv with no unfortunate styling choices for any of the members. That's just my opinion. The styling was flattering for all members to look their best. Sometimes in past, hair crimes were committed, lol. Especially to Shindong. Black Suit is awesome all around - lyrics, vocals, plot, style, choreo, parts distribution, instrumentation, music progression, cinematography - everything! I'm excited to see you continue your exploration of Super Junior's career. Your takes are always really interesting and accurate. Sometimes I don't know why I love what I love about certain songs or performances but then you say a thing and I think "yes that's it! what she said!", so thanks for sharing your journey. ~FM :)
