OMG I had a some of the those toys, they were my favorite ones and the Action Team toys I got from my neighbor that was older then me. So i had a good mix of the the two and the vehicles. I don't remember them falling apart or breaking, but they did run afoul of my sisters dog when I went away on a camping trip and got chewed up. So after that I gave them a good send off with firecrackers. My mom felt bad and I got them replaced with Micronauts.

Good memories, I got luminous on Christmas of 77, then I got super Joe colander, my lil brother got shield, my other brother got the African American , in 87 I moved to Los Angeles California, and I left all my g I joes including my super Joe and my brothers figure in boxes, went back home in 93 when I asked for my stuff my bro told me our youngest sister cleaning and threw everything in the trash, I won't say here what I wanted to do to my sis, but it involves wrestling moves I learned when I was a wrestler or luchador, well I'm sure lots of collectors have similar stories. By the way I saw a video were a gentleman took 12 inch figure and recreated super joes, I think it's called skunk works or something like that. thank you for for the video and good memories, now I teach my grandson about collecting and all those toys that made us happy in the 70s.

I had the Shield guy, my nephew had the Darkon green guy. His lightning sword fell down the shower brick wall in our old house. It's still there on W.82 in Cleveland if anyone needs it. That is unless the people who live there now, tore it down.

Good idea with the clear Elastic

  • @iamtaliesin121

Great video ! Thanks for making the effort, at the end, to describe exactly how you strung the whole figure together. I use the straw method. But would like to add the elastic string . Just to secure the figure better. The straw method works to put them together. But even just posing them on the display shelf, they fall out at the hips. I get tired off having to plug them back together . I loved Super Joe as a kid ! I was a 70s kid. With Star Wars and the space toys marketing from the toy blitz SW got going. So Super Joe was a perfect fit. The line was like Star Trek in Mego figure scale. I never got the Brown Mego Gorn figure. But Gor was a way better lizard bad guy to have for me. I had SJ Commander, Shield and Terron back in the day. I think I was pretty lucky.

My first figure was Gorr from my Neighbor at christmas and then Santa got me Shield. Later I got a Super Joe from a friend, and then much later i got a Darkon at a yard sale with no pants and no helmet, just boots and lightning bolt. That was it. I always thought Shield was related to the Micronauts Time Travelor, and wish i had Luminous who was totally a huge version of a Time Travelor. Now that i have NEO HENSHIN CYBORG I can tell where they got their inspiration. I sure do wish Hasbro would just put-out a gift-set of these; maybe a Haslab...but they won't . My fave Joe line will never exist again. oh, clothing? i had the silver suit with the clamper claw to grab the kryptonite (at least that's what we thought he was getting) and some red suit, black sleeves, and a swirly disc on his chest. So, i had 4 figures and 2 outfits. The red suit went to Joe, and the Black suit went to Darkon (because red and green looked silly)

Cool looking at them but I think you have to have personal nostalgia for them considering the level of repair needed. Very strange Hasbro had this many breaks being such an experienced toy company. Gor is pretty cool though. ;)

interesting video. I don't have the money/skill/shelf space to seriously get into action figure collecting, but am obsessed with this GI Joe team and the the other super Joe team, with Bullet man. So, it was nice to get the bit of nostalgia and history, along with some practical info. Loved those guys as a kid, as well as the one page comic story ads.

So they had repair guides to fix this guy all the way in 1977?? these toys must've sucked hard if they broke that easy I say that im thinking solely as a kid not an adult collector as an adult I kinda dig him and I wish I owned Terron The Beast From Beyond.
