I have a 23 Pete 579 with 2.64 rears and a 238 wheelbase. Paccar motor 😂 averaged 9.2 for the past 115,000 miles

Bruce you have a Backup , use the Cabover original blue collar , fix it up and use it , put air rides if it pleases u , dont need a new truck , you need to fix the cabover and use it !!! Peace

I run a 21 579 paccar getting 8.57 mpg I ranked 26 our 215 in my peer group which I performed in the top 12% of drivers in a similar tractor my truck also has all the flow below stuff on it also it has a 12 speed auto it will coast in natural when not having to pull as hard I love them long hoods but I could careless what i run because I don't pay for it and as long as it makes it from a to b with out a tow I am gravy truck also has 159,700 miles I do prefer the 579 the room is my favorite

As for me, I would never buy an aero dynamic truck or car ever….I don’t care about mileage….I just want to enjoy life and have fun with square bodies….they have such a unique design than crap circles or ovals and all the plastic toy garbage…. What’s the point if you can’t enjoy it. Thanks peterbilt for keeping the original design alive.

We only own gliders. First glider I got from Fitzgerald in 1987. Early 379. Still running it over 3 mil miles on it. We have over 50rigs on from tri axles to day cabs and sleeper. I think we own over 65 trucks, 45 to to 50 working. We have 5 in our shop doing complete over haul. I'm always looking. For gliders. I'm 78. My sons and daughters run tracking and business now I still do my few loads a week. With my 87. She been completely over hauled 3 yrs ago. I spec out 379 ext I have now 18 speed with same rears gears Rockwell's 410 was 210 wheel base. Now she over 300 wheel base day cab. But order it later 1986. Was early model 379. I order it with 24.5 8 lug hub- Piloted rims remember sales man at Fitzgerald thought I was nuts doing this specs, had big cam 400 with 13 speed So now she a beast. Got a 1972 my son rebuilt kta 600a and a 18 speed. With those Rockwells. I'm a dirt hauler so those 410s great quarrlies and for pulling. When I retired means when I die my granddaughter wants Pete. Lol😂😂😂
