That’s why I got a ltd29 classic in my suburban I need a better antenna and an amplifier but it’s a good little radio. It never quits and it’s a 2012 model that’s been in the southeastern sun all it’s life 😂😂 it’s 120 in a truck for 5-6 months straight here

Yes please save the Peterbilt, it looks like a fun side project and it would make a nice looking addition to your collection
Watching those two telehandler operators load the ramp on the step deck was impressive! Completely silent, all unspoken teamwork. Big props to them 👍🏻👍🏻
Save it Bruce as an ex trucker its a large car as we used to call it i always loved running them back in the day nothing like hearing the turbo at 3 in the morning on a summer night.
Nice Pete but gonna cost you a pretty penny to restore and a bunch of hours. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to save tho. Anyways, blue collar lookin sweettttt
I was down there a while back. That yellow Pete was sitting there then and i asked them about it. They said the guy was coming back for it. Definitely rough on the inside.
359s being so hard to find these days i dont care how rough it is id love to have one i think the pete would make great content and kinda be a throwback to the og days of the channel when you painted the cabover

They really need to do more about teaching people in driver’s ed how to operate a motor vehicle around a semi and a motorcycle I would think it’s common sense but from my experience they have no clue

#SaveThe359! I love the old 359 pending what it has for a CAT motor it can be a great truck! I just got my CDL A learners permit…probably will be learning to drive a 1986 GMC General with a Big cam Cummins! Keep up the videos Bruce loving the content as always

Love the content Bruce! I love watching all the semi videos and if you can save one of those trucks I'll be watching. Just gotta hope some people will show their patience because they'll be bitchen every day about it. Thanks Bruce, and keep your videos coming.
Might wanna slide that 5th wheel back a notch, 11k on the steer empty seems like a lot, probably over loading it when full. Mines usually closer to 9k empty and gets up to 12k when I run @ 90k

Buy the Cabover...restore it, and your views will explode again. Remember, a cabover restoration got most of us (like myself) interested in this channel.

I agree with that. When the sad day came that he sold the Air Force cabover to Gentry, like a fool, I started watching that channel to follow the progress. But that project has been put out to pasture, and probably will never be completed. What would be cool, is if Bruce was to go back to his roots and buy it back and finish it. He has bought back a few things, why not that?

@George Jones I don't see where he said he didn't want to watch the channel anymore.
Save it! Will be an epic KZread series! Watching the cab over was what bought me to your channel and love it. I do love all the other content but a rebuild series is surly on the cards
That's one of the best parts of driving a truck or just having a cb in general is talking on them. Love all my radios. I need to start a shop.
Yeah definitely should save it 359s are getting hard to come by now especially in that good of condition she might be a little rough but not as bad as it could be and the motor is proably a 3406B or could be a C as well
In fairness the white car didn’t necessarily know you were pulling into your yard 🤷♂️, would’ve expected you staying in the right lane after your turn. Although personally, I would’ve hung back to be sure. Expect the unexpected. Drive safe✌️

Hey buddy good to see you again buddy good luck with trucks an tractors see you soon
That Pete has a cat 3406b. Extremely reliable and loved engine. The issues with them heads are the rocker shaft hold downs are known for cracking and failing, the jakes would get out of adjustment and cause a valve to break a tip off and drop, and the rocker bridges would slip out if the valves weren’t adjusted when they should have been. All of those can be avoided with simple planned maintenance. But that engine is just as iconic as a Detroit, definitely worth saving, at least for the engine. Even if you gotta put a reman head on it and a liner. But sometimes you can get lucky and if it didnt drop a valve or anything then it’s definitely fixable. I’d pop the valve covers off real quick and check. And yeah they’re one solid head, two rocker boxes and covers. Full mechanical engine. The 3406e is a heui engine, hydraulic electronic unit injection. Uses high pressure oil and electric signal from ecm to open the injectors. Extremely reliable setup if properly maintained. Then you got into the Acert engines like the c12, c13, c15, c16, c18 and up to the c32. They are Meui engines mechanical electronic unit injection. It uses the fuel transfer pump to supply injectors with 90psi fuel and there a rocker arm on each injector and when the ecm open it the rocker arm pushes the fuel in the engine. Best setup for reliability and power. It’s overhead gear driven cam. Really good engines. Also if you can find a 3408b or e, those are awesome in a semi truck, not good on fuel but tons of power and just awesome engines. If you have any questions I’m a cat field mechanic so don’t be afraid to holler.
@emmettjohnson8220

Sorry, but the 3406E uses electronic control, but uses rocker arms from the overhead cam. They aren't a HEUI setup. Electronically controlled, mechanically activated.

The DOT on the tire tells you the week and year of manufacturing. I.E. 2220 would be 22nd week of 2020. So there is a way of telling how old they are. Just for future reference. Love your videos man.

@George Jones it was sarcasm, he got his start because ole Bruce took him up the air force truck as his and brax project, started and never finish just like all his project…no I have to say the classic is getting there and now that he is building a truck for Weston maybe he might finish some to “show people what they can do”
Forsure that thing would be so cool in the fleet

Absolutely save it
11,680 on your steers empty is not good. Put it on the scale loaded and see how far over 12,000 you end up
That banana would look great next to blue collar 2.0 and to have it as a back up if blue collar 2.0 breaks down.
That's takes me back too, is having a great conversation on the cb radio with another driver.
Needs to say “when life hands you lemons” on the back of the sleeper!

CB radio, that brings back alot of memories my Dad and grandpa always had one in all of their vehicles.
Get the banana jammer and convert it for pulling, it's nearly gutted for you already and use Blue Collar to haul it to shows and pulls. Old school Pete tugged around by an old school King. From my point of view, I think you spun your U-turn a bit too close in front of all those vehicles. Glad they actually were paying attention. You sure know how to pack a trailer, and the ramp was nearly scrap price, great purchase.

If Tim Gentry was to get ahold of it, it would never see the light of day again. If you don't know, a couple of examples would be, the Air Force cabover he got from Bruce maybe a couple of years ago, he has put out to pasture on his "farm", and I think I remember he got a K100 as a project, but it has been so long since I have seen it, I am not sure,
Save it and it will save you from the headaches and hassles of def
Hey Bruce cool video mate, good having the cb talk occasionally with good people on a long trip. Those cars have no respect for trucks these days, they don't care and always in such a rush. Cheers mate, watching from New Zealand. Ps I subbed ages ago👍
Bruce you are old school I've been driving truck since October 1997 for company out of southern Illinois run deicated to Ontario Canada every week love your videos congratulations on new baby girl
If you can that banana hammock would be an awesome sled pulling rig or semi drag truck but probably that cats got to go. Either way Great video and people are inconsiderate jack wagons that think they own the road.

My 3 year old loves your trucks Bruce, thance for the awesome content
Awesome video Bruce Wilson
car drivers just aren't taught how to drive a semi, which in reality I personally think they should, then they would know to give a semi the room if needed. yeah there are times whereby it is unsafe to do so, or already commited at or close to a blind junction, here in the UK most junctions are illegal to do a u-turn though, especially a dual-carriageway, unless a designated lane to allow you to do it between the two sides which would then be sort of like the median between both sides of the highway there, so that no part of the truck is left still on the carriageway while doing a u-turn.
Keep it up Bruce love your channel big time
Yeah
Save it! Dual breather short hood,👌. 1987 was the first year with intercooler and the last year of the 359 to my understanding
You should take a Mack Quad box in a B model with twin sticks. You would love that changing gears through the steering wheel.Would make a got video.
I agree about the radio conversations I wish more drivers would talk
I’ve got one in my work pickup here in Ky and no conversation in sight I’m only 30 years old and remember my childhood every truck had a radio that was the only way to communicate back in the day
Yes I like the Canary ( tweety bird ) yellow Peter and I think it would be worth buying cleaning up and flipping for profit or turning it into a racing truck.
359 with the Corevette dash... ya that old girl would be a keeper for sure. Put a mor modern sleeper on her and if it had a generator on her... be worth at the very least an in frame or perhaps a more modern Cat in her :-) Classy Rig that one!
