Another trick with smoothies that really helped me is to actually treat it like food not a drink. Chew it for 5-10 seconds before swallowing, get your saliva amongst it which actually starts the digestive process off. This was a game changer for me. If you're gulping down smoothie like water, you're gonna have digestive issues.

That makes sense...I figure drinking the green smoothie stuffy through-out the day & afternoon and maybe evening would work best. Drinking 96 oz of water thru-out the day makes me visit the bathroom pretty often...but it does make me feel better, gives me energy and keeps my soft, smooth and very little wrinkles...love it!

Can anyone help me understand why some gas smells (this type is "warm" on exit!) and other gas really doesn't (this type is "cool" on exit!? I suspect it's to do with the type of fibre and the type of bacteria fermenting that fibre, but it's been affecting me for about 20 years now, I realy wish I could solve this puzzle!

I have a question about the nutrients in the smoothie: don't they get lost in the smoothie over the course of the day if I mix the smoothie in the morning because they are broken up and then drink it throughout the day? Or is that just a rumor? Or is the loss of nutrients not that high? And is the main thing that I get the greens/fiber in?

I went to a wise old experienced Tibetan MD in India and said I like salads. She said no to salads for everyone. My guess is that Tibet is the highest plateau in the world where the practice of Tibetan Medicine was perfected. It is almost year-round cold there. My point is and it is also agreed on in Traditional Chinese Medicine that salads are cooling to the body and take a strong enough digestive capacity to be able to extract the nutrients. So, I only eat salads in the summer and juice once a day only when it is hot enough out. Some people cannot handle salads or juicing. Their digestion is not strong enough. Steamed veges they can usually handle since the steam opens up some of the plant cell walls releasing nutrients. Juicing is usually promoted in warm/hot states like southern California...there it has a chance of working on the most people. In short, some people cannot juice or eat salads. The common symptoms of a body with Yang deficient cold constitution would consist of the following: cold limbs, inability to tolerate cold weather, discomfort after eating cold food and vulnerability to diseases related to cold & dampness.

Just eat the greens like you're doing...She said in 1 video somewhere that the idea with the smoothies is only to make it easier to consume them...not that a 'smoothie' has some sort of special power over salads...as long as you can get them in that's fine.
