@@walterwhite1 Yeah this game was in HD, but it was hard to get. For a few reasons: - HDTVs were bulky and expensive. $3K for a 40" - There was no cable TV HD, can't remember if DirecTV was. - You had to buy a separate Tuner device and hook up an antenna. - No way to record unless you had a $300 card you put in your computer and then loaded some hacked firmware on it, and even then you could not record much as hard drives were smaller.

@@walterwhite1 Free HD public broadcasts started in the late 90s using the same ATSC 1.0 signal you can pick up with an antenna today. Most content was not HD until the mid 2000s. But ABC did broadcast Superbowl 34 in HD in January 2000 . In 2005 I was in high school and convinced my parents to buy a $1,000 52" rear-projection HDTV and Superbowl XL was the first we watched in HD. In my opinion broadcasts looked higher quality back then because there was only 1 channel, now there are sub-channels like 24.2, 24.3, 24.4 on antenna and they eat up the bandwidth sharing it with main Fox/NBC/CBS/ABC channel. LCD and Plasma were the better HD tech back then but they were thousands of dollars more expensive. CBS didn't broadcast all their games in HD until 2009 and still had some sideline reporter shots in 4:3 SD until 2013!

Should check out the Rams vs Titans 1999 season Superbowl in HD!!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3qkrc6cibXIirg.htmlsi=UeP1FvRwbopbXCPY&t=384 I've only seen clips of it on this NFL vid. They have never posted the full game online yet, have no clue why!! But it looks so crazy, even surreal to see the game in crystal clear widescreen HD after seeing so many clips in blurry ass standard def.

Nobody could have imagined what the past 20 years were gonna be like. I was 8 year old and I balled my eyes out after the game. All I can do is watch the glory years on NFL films and talk about the greats of the past. Al Davis completely destroying the franchise he built makes me sad. Especially knowing all the assistant head coaches were all those former players that had won Super Bowls. Willie brown was the CB coach, belitnicoff was WR coach. Now we have his son who is so inept and can’t pick coaches or GMs to save his life.

could be much worse. You could be a Vikings fan. 0-4 in SBs & never seriously competed in any of them. They scored 7, 7, 6 & 16 in them & got absolutely destroyed by each team on the ground. And then the Vikes have lost all 6 NFC title games (5 in my lifetime) they've been in since. At least the Raiders showed some toughness & made a decent comeback in the 2nd half here. They got jobbed by the refs on that 2-pt conversion by Jerry Porter. He almost got 1 foot in WHILE being pushed out & most likely would've got the 2nd one in. It's 34-23 at that point & makes it a TD, conversion, FG game. Better chance than having to score 2 TDs. As a Vikes fan, I'd just be happy to see them in a SB & decently compete even if they lose

This game has given me nightmares ever since especially knowing the back story about gruden and Callahan. The year prior with the tick rule game. The raiders history could literally turn into a movie. From Al Davis coming in 1963 to the gruden bowl. It would be a movie based on glory and defeat with a sad ending. I won’t get over this loss 20 years later or until they make it back and win it

As a Raiders fan, i can never except this lose. After hearing interviews with Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, years after the fact, something was definitely off. Not saying the Bucs couldn't beat them, but its as if the Raiders coaching staff purposely gave the game away. I'll never forget hearing about Barrett Robins having a breakdown the night before, and how hearing the Raiders had a completely different game plan, that changed the night before. And how the Bucs knew every play. Something stinks.

Do my Raiders seasons tickets make me a profit? Yes they do. But mind you these past few seasons since the team has not been so great not as much. Golden Knights? Lucky if I break even on them.
