Super Bowl XIII - Enhanced NBC Broadcast - 1080p/60fps - Dallas Cowboys vs Pittsburgh Steelers

My thanks to romelovesdan for providing me the DVD files used for this project. I've enhanced the broadcast recording of Super Bowl XIII. This copy of the game was in VERY bad shape - lots of noise & compression, very dark picture, and incorrect color that was REALLY washed-out. There was enough there to work with however to accomplish a huge upgrade. I ran the game through Topaz to upscale, denoise, sharpen and double the framerate, then used Da Vinci Resolve to majorly brighten the picture and completely overhaul the color. The end result is far from perfect (very soft focus and not very sharp), but it easily bests any copy of the game you'll find on KZread and from the NFL proper. You can see the incredible restoration here - original shots and post-enhancement -- imgbox.com/g/32lbABIWoV

Still my biggest, "Kick in the Gut" day as a sports fan. So much build up that day....I still get the same feeling every time I watch this one. Even the great opening theme music evokes a rush of emotion. I am transported back to that optimistic youth. Soon, however, my questions are never answered, helplessness kicks in, and there is nothing I can do to change the outcome. So many great men in this game. Always a Super Uniform matchup.

I'd just like to take a moment to shame the NFL for making all of this necessary. How could they have let the televised versions of these monumental games almost be lost to history? Dave, you are truly doing the Lord's work.

This is not a Super Bowl this is a true Hall of Fame game . Between players , coaches and executives 27 future inductees( should be a few more ) .What a game and this presentation is a treasure for anyone who truly enjoys the game . Thank you !

It was the greatest Super Bowl to date then and still ranks as a top 5 for me. Too bad Jackie Smith is remembered by many for that play. He was a Hall of Famer who defined the big, fast tough end.

This was the second Super Bowl I ever sat down and watched. Still one of the best games ever.

You hit the jackpot on this one. This was the gridiron equivalent of the Thrilla in Manila.

What an absolute treat this is! I’m a Steelers fan that was born in 1989, and by that time, Bradshaw, Franco, Swann, Stallworth, and the legendary Steel Curtain were all gone, and Coach Noll retired when I was just two years old. While I’m fortunate enough to have seen my beloved Steelers compete in four Super Bowls, winning two, I missed out on their glory years, when they were the best team in football for an entire decade. So I love watching these old games in their entirety. KZread is the closest thing we’ll ever get to a time machine

Dave, this is excellent quality as I'm so appreciating these upscaled super clear uploads with the original commercials and broadcast productions like the SB intro intact as it really completes the time machine experience. Definitely thank you for getting so many of these games up in the past few weeks.

Very sad to hear about Franco Harris death. It seemed very untimely going home. He was a true legend!

With 17 Hall of Fame members involved this is the greatest Super Bowl ever. Fitting that it was the last major telecast with Curt Gowdy handling play by play for NBC.

The only thing this game didn't have was the introduction of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Man, they were smoking hot!!🤩🏈

I remember watching this with my mom dad and younger brother, at my paternal grandparents apartment near Pittsburgh. I was 13 and little bro was 11. These four Steelers Super Bowls made me the Steelers fanatic I am still to this day... so is my dad and brothers. GO STEELERS!

The buildup to this SB was amazing. These two teams were battling to be the first to win 3 SBs. And the action in this game was insane. Two great teams delivered.

One of the greatest games ever played when football was really football. Thanks for the upload. If Brady was around back then, he would've been killed by either defense.
