Being an American it was an historic event for the rap community

Little input from a guy who born and raised in California.. Dre discovered and produced every artist that performed so it was sort of a homage to his legacy in the hip hop scene on the West Coast of America. Fifty and Eminem are not from the West Coast but Dre did discovery them and they are iconic to club bangers and diversity in the hip hop scene. Snoop Dog was affiliated with the west coast gang the Crips that rep the color blue "blue bandanas" hence the blue outfit with the bandanas design and you'll notice at the end of his part in the first room he throws up the hand gang gesture of the "C" representing crips. Not sure how the NFL felt about that but they are dealing with more serious issues at the moment lol. Kendrick is one of the younger and newest artist making his mark with socially charged songs like "Alright" but you might be more familiar with his song "Humble" . Eminem coming out with Lose Yourself was great and fitting for the SB. Production, song transitions and choreo was the best of heard and seen in a halftime show.

@@chikidd24 He produced Mary J Blige number one hit and signed Lamar to his Aftermath label which led to Awards from 2015-2019 which included the Pulitzer Prize for Music.

@Felica Devers Honestly, no we didn't know that to be honest. We are probably at the age that we knew all the other guys and what they have done but Kendrick totally passed us, but good to hear that he is doing well.

Definitelyyyy check out more Kendrick. He's one of the best and arguably most respected rappers known in the game --- he's an extremely gifted lyricist, probably gonna go down as one of the best rappers of all time, if were being objective here lol. I like his older songs but some of his more recognizable songs are DNA, Humble, and m.A.A.d City. King Kuta is also one of my favorites.

Dr. Dre is a very smart man. He took the money from the NFL, yeah yeahed their "concerns" then told Snoop he could absolutely wear Crip colors and cripwalk, and Eminem that a white guy taking a knee would shame the NFL even more than a black performer doing it. They were even smart enough to tie in Tupac's theme to give a threadbare excuse nobody's expected to actually believe about it being a tribute to him. Well done Dre. Well done Snoop. Well done Eminem.

The set is iconic spots in South L.A.-that was the intent of the set.

Great performance! 50 Cent is on there because a lot of the performers will have a surprise guest. I was surprised to see him too, but I loved it!

SoFi is incredible! Holds 107,000 for Super Bowl sized events. Lol one of the kickers did stay on the sideline for half time. I woulda been pissed if I had to miss it and I was there

Actually, the stadium is only a portion of the gigantic price tag. They are building a city within a city around the stadium. Reminiscent of what they did with Queen Elizabeth Park in London, but this will be smack in the middle of L.A.

Funny you mentioned Snoop's outfit. He was told not to bring or wear his signature blue bandana because it would be inappropriate since it is a gang(crips) symbol. In true Snoop fashion, he had his outfit made in the pattern of a blue bandana. Lol. Anybody catch that?

That stadium has a really advanced design for a football stadium. It's actually similar to a lot of basketball arenas. There are multiple screens in the middle, hanging off the roof, facing each part of the stadium.

Eminem gave up some of his performance time for 50 to perform.

It is 50 Cent. Aside from the mentioned performers before the Super Bowl, they are allowed to bring in surprise guests, and he is the surprise guest which made the whole show better!

50 cents and Anderson Paak were surprise guests

He’s there because it’s Dr. Dres Super Bowl but he’s a legendary producer before artist so he didn’t have enough to perform his own. That’s why snoop, Kendrick, 50, Eminem and Mary were there. All people he created massive hits for.

Agreed, that's exactly how it goes. It's always a surprised guest/people performing but they're not revealed until the day of the performance. ❤😘😍🥰Dr. Dre also produced all the songs the artist song and that's why they performed with him. Dre has his own empire.

Absolute rubbish, Dre is a legend and has the hits to do the whole half time show. He was showcasing the people he produced. It was a masterpiece of his hits.

FYI The map shown on the floor is a map of Compton and the set is designed to represent Compton and the business names are/were actually in Compton....

Love the Brits hilariously thinking 23-20 is a "high scoring" game of American Football and being naive about the reason for the color of Snoop's tracksuit. Respect to them otherwise though... 😁

Have you listened to these artists' songs uncensored, or any of their stuff that wasn't one of their mainstream hits? Just take a random listen to literally any one of Tupac's songs. Rap has ALWAYS been highly sexual. That's just part of the whole vibe. Just accept it for what it is.

A Brilliant half time show, I stayed up and watched it all. Last time I checked (2 mins ago) the SoFi stadium capacity was 70,240 - Camp Nou 99,354 - Wembley 90,000 - just for interest.

SoFi is expandable to 100K for events such as this one. Will likely be the case again for the World Cup 2026 Opener and the 2028 Olympics.

Dr .Dre produced Mary J. song Family Affair & he asked her to do No more Drama because of people being tired of COVID. Anderson Paak is also signed to Dr. Dre's label. All of these Legends are connected to Dr. Dre. He called them all. The trailer for the 2022 Superbowl is called "The Call" it shows when they all got the call.

New camp can hold more people on a given game but SoFi is bigger overall . however, sofi is expandable to up to 100,000 for concerts and etc. they just use the space for more amenities etc. that’s why sofi stadium is the most technologically advanced stadium in the world at the moment.

It's worth noting that the same stadium (SoFi Stadium) will host the opening ceremonies of the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics! First time the US has hosted in almost 30 years. The halftime was 14min. Imagine what they will do with 3 hours!

Kendrick is kinda new age compared to Eminem and others, but he's good! He is the last generation of good hip hop i'd say..

He's the current generation, so hard to say he's the "last generation of good hip hop". He literally is the last generation right now. His music will one day be considered Millennial/Gen Z music, in the same way that Dre/Snoop/Mary J/50/Eminem is considered Gen X/Millennial music.

MCG can house about 100,000 verses SoFi housing 70,000 people. The United States has 917 stadiums, with Australia having 119. Our stadiums in the States are state-of-the-art and design for many sporting events. Children travel all over the States to compete in sports, and that's why there are so many Americans competing at the Olympics. SoFi stadium is about 2-3 years old, and they try to do the Super Bowls in warmer climates. MCG looks very huge. We have a lot of concerts in the stadiums as well. I'm going to visit Australia one day. It's on my bucket list to visit. 🎯💯👍

This was purposely built to host NFL as well as football, that would be something if it did come here, but would it not upset American fans? I will keep an eye on the progress. Cheers

The sports world here is endless. It's always something going on here. Summer and winter sports. We learn from one another no matter where you live.
