That stat by the late Bryan Burwell about the Rams losing more games in a 5-year period than any franchise in the history of the NFL is still shocking to this day and beyond. You know you've hit an all-time low as a franchise when you have lost more games than the Browns, Lions, Jaguars, and Raiders. That is the definition of rock bottom in the NFL.

Martz was a one dimensional coach who believed he could win by overwhelming his opponents with offense. In the playoffs, against good teams who stopped or slowed down his offense, his lack of attention to building a winning defense left him without a Plan B. He had a losing record in the playoffs.

Sadly (probably not for you), it was also the end of the Greatest Show on Turf. That strategy of hitting them before they get the ball also (in a way) inspired bountygate for the Saints. Physicality was the theme in this game. The Pats defense were just going hit the receivers, backs, and tight ends every play and it started on the outside with Ty Law and Otis Smith not allowing free access which is how you combat any big play-high flying offense. The Pats hit the Rams in the mouth from the start and eventually mistakes will happen.

I was in a tent in Afghanistan freezing my ass off for this game. Only SB I've missed since I was 5. First time I've even seen the highlights. Couple of fun observations. i think that Warner is in his 3rd season here...it's Brady's second season; first as a starter. Warner goes on to have his career fall apart, gets released, goes to the Giants as a stop gap for Eli which is disaster, leaves NY to mentor Leinart....resurrects his career, takes the lowly Cardinals to the SB, ends up retiring 5 years after that he's in the HoF. People don't seem to remember just how bad both of the teams that Warner got to the SB were. Warner held the top 3 passing performances in SB history until recently. BUT....in that same time Tom Brady goes on to play in EIGHT MORE SB's and he might be retired (I'm not buying it). It's insane. Hell, Mike Vrabel forced an interception in this game....he's heading into his 8th season coaching in the NFL; 4th as a head coach...and a good one at that. There used to be an argument for decades about the greatest QB....not anymore. Tom Brady has every passing record....has SEVEN SB rings....3 more than anyone else. The greatest of all time? If you beat the best twice in the biggest game it's easy....it's gotta be Eli Manning. 🤣

i remember having serious debates in Connecticut with other fans if we continue with Brady or ride the rest out with Bledsoe. What a lot of people forget is Tom got hurt in the playoffs and Drew took over early in the AFC championship game and looked much better than Brady and played great. Remember Drew was no slouch he was a pro bowl QB with experience and a huge arm and even though this kid was leading us to wins there was a discussion all throughout New England if we let Drew start the Super Bowl. Most of us agreed that Tom should start but in the back of our mind we didn't know if that would be the right decision.

"We all felt Tom had a better pre-season than Drew, but he was the franchise QB, so I went with him expecting Tom would play at some point" - Bill Belichick. I was in college when all this happened, and we all knew Bledsoe sucked ass. I guess its typical for the type of people who live in Connecticut to have no clue. Here in Rhode Island we were calling for Drew to get benched after going 0-2 without a TD pass. He was terrible and a stiff, when Brady came in we were so happy the donkey got benched. We also knew there was no way Drew would play over Tom in the Superbowl lmao, who would ever even argue that smh.

I understand the need to make money but they have more money than what they know what to do with. Then why use a free platform (KZread) to load up a zillion adds for people trying to watch videos ?
