For a neutral fan like me, this game had everything i could have hoped for. Excitement, great offensive and defensive display by both sides with a potentially HOF caliber QB clash. And of course the storylines: the cemeting of Brady's legacy against a generational defense such as the LOB, the maddening last quarter with NE coming back and Seattle getting to the 1 and arguably one of the greatest zero to hero moments in sport history with the Butler INT. I mean.... how can you possibly top that?

You have to keep in mind that Seattle had one timeout, with under 30 seconds left in the game. Belichick set it up by not calling a time out as the clock ran down, a bit of genius that left Carroll with not enough time for three running plays. With the option of running Lynch three times for that one yard taken away, he had to call at least one pass play. NE had eight men on the line, vs. Seattle's six blockers, so this was the obvious time to call it. A catch would win the game, and an incomplete would stop the clock, leaving Lynch with two chances at that last yard. And surely there was no chance of an interception on a one-yard pick play. (Well, _almost_ no chance.) Butler's amazing move blew up the plan, and Lynch never got the two shots that Carroll wanted him to run. (Butler had practiced against exactly that play, and knew exactly what to do: watch him run straight to where he knew the ball was going to be.)

He lost 3 SBs by a avg of 5pts and the 8pt loss to the Eagles was the one he set the SB record(s) with 505yds. He has 2 more SB rings than the avg points he lost in SBs. That says a lot.

Greatest play in superbowl history. Just before this play I told my wife the game is never over until the last play...she laughed and said your team is to lose. Of course 10 seconds later I looked at her and just smiled. MB will haunt Pete Carroll and the Seahawks forever....

I know, people seem to just want to forget that they won the Super Bowl the season before they played the cheatriots and all they say is "one yard line," "one yard line." And that was a game decided by a 5 second play 6 years ago. It's time to move on guys.

A 2nd year QB in Russell calling what his OC told him to....any veteran QB would've changed that call in the huddle to power run with Lynch and after scoring told the OC he is insane to call that play.

If anything it's russell's fault to throw the pick, they still wouldve got 2 downs to run it. Malcolm butler showed immense awareness to cut in and intercept the ball in a such quick pass situation.
