I think Woolie shot out Super Eyepatch Wolf's eye during a "Gun to your head" and told him to come back when he's stronger and that HunterxHunter is bad. Afterwards SEP became super and put on the eyepatch he started his Woolie Hunt.

I love that instead of just using the audio from the Super Eyepatch Wolf episode, you gave context from the original podcast episode. You do that for all of your clips and compilations and you're super cool.

Woolie hates hunter x hunter because of the hordes of internet dwellers yelling at him to watch it. He watched it out of spite just so he COULD hate it.

mason richey It's not that bad just a typical tournament Arc wasn't anything special but not as bad as people said it was.

And all these years later we have witnessed this come full circle with what happened to Woolie in Gon in 60 Seconds.

This feels SO GOOD now that Pat has drank the Chimera Ant Kool Aid

I watched the entire fucking Zabuza Arc of Naruto and that was all I could watch, then for some reason I was so bored I watched it up to the Pein Arc before screaming out "THIS IS THE BIGGEST LOAD OF HORSESHIT!".

Woolie's Fullmetal Alchemist comparison seems odd. I thought the deal with the first FMA wasn't that it was badly done, but that it _was_ unfaithful to the original stuff? In that it ends in a completely different way.

It's not even that it ends in a different way. It's basically the same anime for the first 15 episodes or so and then midway through an episode that you think you know what's going to happen in one character basically outright says "no fuck you we're following the manga now" and just murders like 5 important characters from the 2003 anime in like 10 seconds.

HillelTaco Itsnot that its badly done.Its just ending to the original was pretty poor and that they left out alot of characters due to going away from the manga.Also alot of the characters were cooler in Brotherhood.

the 2003 anime caught up to the manga and had to make up a second half. it was shockingly consistent with the manga for the most part.

Since i never care about manga the original FMA is a way more interesting watch without context. Brotherhood feels way more anime in the way I don't appreciate but it's still super good either way.

Despite it being my favorite anime/manga of all time, Hunter x Hunter is a hard anime to get other people into. It really doesn't start getting intensely good until the second to third arc, which at that point it's (in my opinion) the best Shonen anime. The biggest issue with HxH is it's slow start, and you can't just force people to watch 10 episodes of something they aren't liking. But to me, I think it's really dumb to watch something just to make fun of the people hyping it up, because hype doesn't just exist for no reason, and like it or not, you're not above getting into things that are massively praised. To me, if something that seems lackluster is getting a lot of hype, it just makes me want to trudge through it more to see when that happens. Sometimes it doesn't click for me, but I'm not gonna shit on the people who like it. I personally don't care at all for One Punch Man, and I watched the first season and read many chapters of the manga, but I can totally see now why people enjoy it. Hype isn't a bad thing, and I wish people would stop letting it ruin things for them.

One Piece is the only series where I think the current chapters still feel super inspired despite how long it’s been going. I don’t know if you could say it’s as good as it’s ever been but I’ve never heard anyone who is caught up saying Oda has run out of ideas.

How did woolie not know about hh 2011. You can tell by the animation that it’s not what everybody was talking about.

I get part 1 Naruto is overrated at best average shonnen but once we get into pain's storyline the itachi fight and of course tobito, the 2nd half of Naruto actually got really good cause of these 2 main villains and the sauske vs itahci conclusion and ramifications...just my opinion but I guess you have to sit through the shit that is the first few arcs of the timeskip and yeah its pretty ass until jiraya fights pain...or at best sasuke fights deidara which occurs right before anyways...the entire first few arcs are boring unless you really care for garra or shikamaru ...

My favorite manga/anime are Dragonball, Guyver, Fist of the North Star and One Punch Man. My wife loves everything Clamp, Miyazaki, and Magic Knight Rayearth. Because you don't like an anime doesnt mean you can't be friends.

To be fair, there is a pretty big difference between being a couple and being friends. Not always but lets not act like they're at all the same things or have the same requirements.

i truly believe Woolie is the only person on Earth who says he hates HxH. It's fine to not prefer it, or not like it. but HATE???? AT WORST it's an average shonen. I would DEFINITELY say the first 20 episodes of HxH is better than the first 20 of Naruto

I'm sure One Piece isn't BAD per se, I just don't like it. With a burning passion. On the other hand, I like Dragon Ball GT. I know it has problems, I just like it. It's entertaining to me. We can disagree. We can have differing opinions. My opinion doesn't invalidate your opinion, and vice-versa. Discussions (not arguments) are based on things like this.

BadAssMutha006 when i say "hellsing", i mean "the manga or ultimate". the first anime is radically different, so i don't count it.

watched all of hxh, didn't hate it, but the shitty fanbase made me hate it.

Hate new HxH until they get past the ovas. Will never look good to me and hate the pacing. Like in the fight they talked about the big guy uses his Hatsu punch and it's like a powerful real bomb went off blowing everything away. In 2012 it looked more like a DBZ blast that stays around for like 30 seconds. Prefer how characters moved in fight in the old one more.

I also don't get the HXH hype. I've seen around 66 episodes (where the dubs gotten up to right now) and I like it but I don't see how it gets such incredible praise. I mean visually it's been mostly shit and the direction is pretty lame. No doubt I'm going to watch the whole thing though. I knew I was in for the ride as soon as kurapika punched that prisoner guy in the face. Then Killua rips that guys heart out and it's the hypest shit ever.

Geeeee8 first I disagree about visuals , visuals are pretty good it was done by madhouse and it's more consistent than Naruto. Second the problem is people overhype the shit out and it can lead to people hating it so I can understand how you feel, a classmate of mine kept on pestering me on hunters xhunter . The part people are mostly talking about is the chimera ant arc which takes a crazy turn. So keep on watching hunterxhunter on your own pace.

​@Lain HxH looks quite good and has some really cool visual moments that I adore the shit out of. But you're pretty much demanding to be wrong by saying it "has the best animation by far of any shonen ever". It helps that you limited it at just shonen but you're definitely not correct in that statement. If nothing else you haven't seen every shonen and even without that its an absurd claim to make about a show that's consistently of good quality but its not like I'm watching HxH and just creaming my pants at the visuals every episode.

Its praise mainly comes from phantom troupe arc and chimera ant arc. The shows best 2 arcs

I love HxH but that first arc is fucking trash. That ant arc feels weird and stinted in parts and Killua is fucking annoying but I love the phantom troupe arc as well as greed island and parts of the small tower tournament arc, Gon vs Hisoka is amazing to me. HxH Is great but it has problems, it's not perfect but I like it and if you personally like something that's all that should matter not what anyone else thinks. But Dragonball super is objectively trash and if you like it you're sub human. End of story.

Even the York New arc would be hard to swallow if you came from Woolie's perspective and wanted it to get good in a hurry, the whole thing hinges on you already liking the characters involved on that hostage situation.
