Greetings from Atlantic Canada! I have two merman tails of my own (one with a monofin) and my wife has a tail with two snorkel flippers. So I'm always happy to find a video like this that shows how the various parts work underwater but also displays the pure joy of mermaiding. Keep up the great work, Faith! You're doing the Canadian merfolk community proud!

Magic tails seem to be really see through compared to other tails.

x_katie_the_mermaid_x yeah I've noticed that too, I have a magic tail and it isn't too see through in an outside pool with just sunlight but in a pool w a light inside the tailskin becomes very see through vs a finfun

I ordered a Sun Tails tail a couple of days ago in the Sea Serpent pattern. I had watched this video more times than I can count just so I could get a good idea on how the monofin works in the water. It should arrive in a few days and I am excited for it. I'm not expecting the same level as my wonderful Mahina, but I wanted to see how this fin works especially for my friend who is just getting into mermaiding. I figured it would be a lot easier to start her in as opposed to the Mahina. Can't wait!

I loved this, especially helpful since I was planning on getting a Suntail

Hey, I have a question about mermaid tails- my birthday is coming up, but there are already 5 things I want (I personally limit myself to 5-6), so when would be a good time to ask my parents if I could find a mermaid tail I like and get it before/during summer? (I would love to make a tail, but we just moved and our sewing machine is somewhere in the garage and I haven't really sewn anything)

Should I get a suntails monofin or fin fun monofin its my 3rd one its gonna go into a fin fun and suntails and a couple others and I don't kow which to choose

I wouldn’t recommend the sun-tails mono fin for beginners. I am a fast swimmer, so I love that it gives you a lot of speed, but I already had to repair it twice and the first time was after my second use! The neoprene ripped because of stress and I had to sew it by hand. I added a thick peace of fabric to enforce the most stressed part but now ripped on another part and I have to repair once again. I can also confirm that it doesn’t sit very tight on the lower straps, but if you try to make it tighter on the upper part you risk not being able to get out of it in case of emergency. In addition to that it takes a long time to fasten the neoprene since you have to wiggle the plastic clasps inside the fabric if you don’t want them to give you unnecessary resistance in the water. I love my mermaid tail but I was very disappointed by the poor choice of fastening sun-tails made with their neoprene. I love their tail designs but I will not get another one of their mono fins unless they change their neoprene fitting.

Faith! Did you know that suntail is testing out Nunui monofin covers with smaller food pockets?

I have maybe around a medium-large size foot and still found it difficult to secure my feet in the monofin lol, I don't think it's really a foot size issue. Have had this thing for a few months now of fairly rough usage, and the neoprene pocket is beginning to unravel at the seams as well as the velcro becoming weaker; likely because of both that and me attempting to get the velcro really tight. Besides that, the suntails monofin is a very good monofin if you don't mind it very loose and already have a decent dolphin kick. Next monofin I buy will likely be of the design where it is attached to the fin as I much prefer a very secure hold on my feet.

Hello! My name is Abby and I’m looking for a good place to get my first mermaid tail! I’m just looking for a regular fabric tail with a monofin. I was wondering if you would recommend Fin Fun, Swim Tails, or Sun Tails more. Like I said it’s my first tail and I’m a beginner, so it’s mostly what would be better for me to swim in. Can you do mermaid tutorials on cool tricks and looking like a mermaid? And can the tail skin fit on the fin fun monofin?

I bought a monofin just like this but on amazon😂 i heard you shouldnt really trust sites like amazon with these because theyre cheap/rippy or ripoff. But this one came with a tail and that exact monofin just like this/suntails. It just black in the middle no brand or anything but with the plastic. What if they dont have those black things for the tips?? What if it IS a ripoff?

Hey faith dont know if you remember me or not I comment a lot and as I was watching your videos sonething funny happened in mind I realized we were th same size even though I am 7 years younger and anyway I really value your opinions and fun fun will actual be like my forth tale for christmas I am getting suntails and magictail tails and I just cant wait and hopeful my next birthday I will get a fun fun tail I just cant pick one there all so pretty I am choosing between the purple and Aussie green I hope you read my comment:)

I'm just wondering but sometimes on a finfun monofin the stitches on the monofin sometimes comes off. Dose the suntail monofin do the same?

Suntails is probably my favorite! Some of their tails are more sheer than others; dark colours are usually better.

I'm looking for a tail, but don't know what brand to go with. Currently debating between suntail and finfun, I'd like an American based company that's not too expensive, though I can also order a foreign tail. I've never swam in a monofin before, but I'd like something I can bring into calm open waters.

Do you need contacts when swimming. If not then opening your eyes underwater is pretty blurry anyway

I own the sun tail mono fin. I enjoy it a lot. It was my intro into becoming a merman. I find that if one of your legs is stronger than the other, you end up doing a lot of swimming sideways . I just ordered my first tail skin, the Sea Monster tail, from them on the 6/27/17. I am excited and really nervous.

Faith On The Bass Thanks. I swam in the suntail mermaid tail for the first time and the tail skin fell a part on the first swim. Suntail replaced the tail skin. The replacement fell apart as well at stitching . I love the mono fin but the tail skin was a major fail. Well i ordered a finfun tail. Can't wait!

I found out recently, after lending the Suntail monofin to a visiting merman. NEVER use it inside a Magictail or a Fin Fun!! Because this fin is wider than both the Magictail and Fin Fun, it WILL wear holes into those tails much faster than the recommended monofins.

Interesting. I don't do it a whole bunch, but the last couple times I have stuck my Suntail in other fins it has worked fine, just poking out a little.

Yea, he used his Magictail and my Suntail. After 3 hrs playing in the pool, he had tiny holes and very worn looking areas along the side edges and fin tips.

Maybe, when your channel blows up and you have MILLIONS of subs (yes that will defo happen) you can use the money to buy a silicone tail! I'm only a kid (the tears) so obviously I couldn't afford a silicone tail anyway, but I have to wait till I'm an adult and stop growing, until I can spend (my parents spend XD) more than £100 on a mermaid tail. As you can tell I'm from the uk and I think I'm going to bet on planet mermaid, than pay for shipping from American brands. Do you think planet mermaid is a good tail for complete begginers? It's the only option I've got really but I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks for this amazing video, and thanks if you even made it through my massive comment LOL. p.s you should start a patron to save for a beautiful silicone tail! Nah. Sun Tail Nunui won't fit into a womens Large Fin Fun. Well not in the limited edition tails anyway, not sure about their regular range.

No. I don't have their regular tail. Just the limited edition ones. The Sun Tail monofin is too wide for Fin Fun skins.
