Always happy to see Americans appreciate The Proclaimers. Unlike many artists and groups, they have never compromised on being Scots. No fake American accents, or even fake English accents. 100% Scot, or nothing. The movie “Sunshine on Leith” is one of many guilty pleasures. Relatively low budget, but full of Proclaimers music. Jane Horrocks version of the title song was hauntingly beautiful.

You should watch the video of Hibs fans singing this after they won the Scottish Cup - it's brilliant.

English guy here. Hibs officially becamemy favourite Scottish team after watching that video. Gets me everytime....

Love the poetry of this song - while I'm worth my place o this earth, is such a beautiful way to evoke the fickle ephemeral nature of our short lives. Leith is the river the pours out of Edinburgh, and the sunshine so far north is magic when "The Chief" decides to let it pour through. Not just their voices, but their music and arrangements on this were just magic!

When my 1st marriage ended, my heart was broken. I moved from the UK to Morocco to start again, there I met my now 2nd wife, she saw my heart was broken, she claimed it, she touched it, she saved it, 20 years later we're more in love than ever. This song is so perfect for us and for me in particular is, one of the most beautifully written songs ever. Christmas just gone, Lindsay (my wife) gave me a framed picture of the song lyrics in the shape of a heart. I just burst into tears, when I saw it.

Leith is the port area of Edinburgh. If you've ever seen the film Trainspotting, that's set in Leith also. Nice reaction my man👍

Those men sing like angels, the accent is just a bonus.

Leith is in Edinburgh, Hibernian football club this is their official song as the Proclaimers are Hibees fans .

Just to clear up any doubts you may have regarding my knowledge of their songs, if you take a look at their surnames and then at mine. Charles and Craig are my nephews, although I don't see them often because I live in Wales, having moved here from my home country of Scotland 25 years ago. The last time me and the lads met was at a New Years party 2018/19.

Brilliant musicians, brilliant songs. The movie is special - and watching Jane Horrocks sing this always got to me.

Two of the nicest blokes to come out of Scotland. Genuinely talented and as far from the conveyor belt pop machine as you can get. Great stuff.

Seen them play a gig in LEITH a few months ago, the audience sang along to it. It's our anthem.. I was born in LEITH and this song reminds me of a beautiful childhood and a wonderful football team.. HIBERNIAN FC.. GOOD ON YOU MATE.. 🇳🇬🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍
