In this episode we tackle the most popular section of the Sunshine Coast Trail hiking from Sarah Point in Desolation Sound to the Shinglemill Pub in Powell River. We slept one night at the Manzanita hut and another at Little Sliammon Lake hiking over 50km of trail. The ocean views in Desolation Sound and Okeover arm were other-worldly. The old growth forests and refreshing lake swims were truly unbelievable.
The Sunshine Coast Trail is a 180km backcountry hut-to-hut hiking experience that stretches from Sarah Point in Desolation Sound to Saltery Bay South of Powell River British Columbia. The experience and terrain is truly unique and the landscape is constantly changing from rocky mountaintops to old growth forest and coastal shoreline. There are 15 amazing huts that you can sleep in and the trail is amazingly maintained. You can choose your own adventure and hike the SCT as a thru-hike in 8-12 days or hike it in different sections.
A huge thanks to PAWS (Powell River Parks and Wilderness Society) and the volunteer groups that maintain and improves the trail.

Hey Bro! MTB are allowed but I don't think it would be much fun to stay on the main SCT trail. However, Powell River is loaded with sick MTB trails that stem off the SCT it would be a sick place to ride at some point for you,

hahaha Laura absolutely rips man. I feel like I'm always huffing and puffing playing cat and mouse on the trail to film and keep up. Maybe I'll sneak some more weight into her bag to slow her down LOL.
What time of year did you hike this trail?

Hey Keato - this was in June. You can hike it as early as may but you might encounter some snow in a few spots. I'll be posting a full guide about the hike on my website in the next few months! let me know if you have any q's about the trail!
