    Very helpful , just had my car fully wrapped and I noticed my sunroof clunking after I got it back . I think the shop had to clean the area to apply vinyl wrap to the roof and never re greased it . Thank you 👍🏼

    I don't have that kine, but great tip to remember if I ever do own a vehicle with a sunroof. I have silicone grease! That's what the damper pads are lubed with in a Dependable Care Maytag washer. Soon I will show how to service them!

    question does driving around with roof tilt make lots of dust come in? its my first car i mean ill close completely once parked but driving around lots of dust will go inside and dirty my car?

  • @jaykay18

    @jaykay18

    Жыл бұрын

    No, not really. When driving, nothing will really fly in, the aerodynamics of the car makes the air flow over it. If you are on dusty roads, best to keep it closed though. Leaving it open when not in the car, anything can fall in.

    i opened mine in winter or tried to open it.... and it didnt and something happened where now when i use it... is doing a cracking noise as it moves... like a plastic grinding thing "gear stepping" noise thing is strange... im afraid to take it apart... cause if i mess it up... oh well then i have a hole in my roof top lmao... i wonder if u guys know what the problem might be? car is a e46 wagon 2004 model 2.0tdi... not sure if that helps... but basically whenever i tried to fully open it sometimes it goes sometimes stops mid... im guessing there is a spring and a gear somewhere and they arent in a guide anymore so it works bad or grinds on smth....

    Well you broke something, or something was frozen and it tried to move, and the ice locked it in place. You have a damaged part that would need to be replaced most likely. It IS a BMW after all...

    Did the same with my 00 Durango rear wiper. Most manufacturers use plastic or similar gears. I ended up having to replace the whole motor assembly. I know it's not the exact same but hopefully it helps

    If it's a Toyota, you can try this procedure: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWqZx82fk5DKlbA.html If you get it in the right position and it still doesn't seal, then the seals are bad and need to be replaced.

    A spray silicone lubricate might work, but can also attract dirt. So unless it's having trouble sliding, I wouldn't.
