I look at the view in awe. 5000 yrs ago our ancestors picked this place. And 5000 yrs on, we honor their place. I am so pleased their Stonehenge is still here.

Thank you for this solstice gift. I love that the birds showed up at sunrise to show us their beautiful flight. Every time I have visited Stonehenge at sunrise or sunset, I am amazed by the beauty of this land. Such a grand gift to all of us, thank you to everyone that brought this to us, I appreciate the team that took the time outdoors to set up the cameras to watch this with us. Blessed Be to all. Happy Winter Solstice.

Without the presence of people acknowledging this key event in our earth's usual pattern of movement the British Isles are in in for some crazy weather this year. I believe the security guards kept the people at a distance as they have been in the last years with the exception of the days of solstices and equinoxes when people could move in and out the megaliths. They made a bad mistake in keeping people out.

4,000-years ago, to the inhabitants here, the stars in the skies were no more significant than grains of sand on the beach. The stars were located in a very different position as this planet's obliquity was tipped radically from its position today. The structure was created to bury and weigh down a large circular craft that was the center of all fear for the Neolithic people of the Salisbury plaines. JamesGMason .com, Stonehenge.

The Earths obliquity or tilt axis varies between 22.1 and 24.5 degrees but the cycle is 41,000 years 4,000 years is an eye blink in cosmological time.

To the people of that time the stars were life or death as they helped mark the changing of seasons for farming and hunting. You give far too little credit to our ancestors, they were not foolish, stupid, or even uneducated. And historical heritage sites do not point to aliens.

@@doubtful_seer indeed they used the stars for navigation, and were clever enough to align the henge to the solstice.

Poor form by English heritage, what gives them the right to close Stonehenge? My family and I were blessed being there for the solcistes last year, which had great sunrises and sunsets. Before people jump on the COVID bandwagon, there was actually more children in the world that died of air pollution related illnesses in 2020 than what covid killed worldwide. One days cost of the last Iraq war could have seen the whole world be turned green. Remember, it’s the Kali Yuga, mad men are in charge of the world. Keep loving, keep meditating, keep praying.

Blame covid, not English Heritage. Parts of the UK are in high level lockdown. Stonehenge is closed by government rules.

I think it's a bit late in the day to talk about jumping on the COVID bandwagon. 1,702,262 deaths worldwide as of December 21, 2020.
