Does anyone know what kind of stock is this🥲 I’m Asian and I have no idea what that ií🥲
Its really amazing to see Victoria Pendleton turned into a medieval knight in shining armour! She really seems like a modern days Joan of Arc. She is an amazing sportswoman who has everything to be a great jouster! You should invite her to do this sport more often.
Kate is quite attractive, I wish women still dresses like this.
What is this techno music?
The "artichokes" are upto 13% inulin. Which is a type of fiber. Knowing that, its not hard to guess what she meant lol.
I dont know how I ended up here. I was literally just researching how upper class society treated others in the Victorian era and somehow i ended up here 😭 send help you guys
i ain't cooking any of the recipes but i sure do love watching these videos
I learnt about the King's Shilling from the TV game show Taskmaster, where Charlotte Ritchie brought a mug with glass bottom from his grandfather, it let you see if the marine had put the shilling in your mug.
The King's Shilling was a thing, the glass bottomed tankards wasn't
Love how she had to put the outside and lower servants in their place.
What are they such bitches for? Lol
i do not agree with the brandy because of the alcohol so I leave it out.
Would Mrs Crocombe be kind enough to show us a slice of the foos she cooked? I always miss to see the inside of her delicious dishes.
Step I: Be from Cornwall Step II: Be a Jacobite Step III: Profit?
"Have you done cleaning your hands?" Sambil ngupil...
I wish I were British
What is the pirate's favorite letter?
The mood and weather was just a lucky excuse that the superstitious people believed lol.
Or just listen to Alestorm, who play on the myths not actual things (Blackbeards myth for example)
1100th like on the video, don't forget me.
I just love this channel. I’m literally from South America and most of the things Mrs Crocombe cooks are vastly different from what I’m used to, but when I watch her cook I feel like I wanna be cook for an english Lord. Memories from the colonies perhaps? (Joking joking)
You made a macaroni crouton I suddenly understand every Italian that is offended at american takes on their food.
"What are we eating today? - Some pudding... I guess.
Yayyy she’s back! ❤
WTF!?! Forgive the expletive. Macaroni and cheese in Victorian time? I thought it was an America invention!
🙋 What’s the green candied thingy made from?
this is the kind of thing we want to see sliced into
Came for the tea, stayed for the shade.😂
Lovely, but there's one anachronism of note: the stainless steel chef's knife with composition handle. Surely there's a more period-appropriate knife available.
I think I've been watching to many tv-shows (the last kingdom) , I somehow knew the answer ... and I am not from England
May I be the first to say; "ya-har fiddle de-dee."
Mrs C didn’t torch the middle Class with her ‘middle class’ comment. She actually torched the Braybrookes - as it’s for their family lunch! Is she saying her employers have middle class tastes?
I wonder if rice pudding came from this dish? The recipe reminds me of my grandmother’s rice pudding
You all took what could have been a very lame presentation and made it fun, informative, cute, and kind of cool! Mr. Marine really shows how well he's trained with that musket - his form is pretty good!
you should see him do the complete drill - it's superb
I remember seeing that at Conner parerie
At first I thought the thumbnail was a picture of a Bishop or the Pope with a rifle.
Commenting for boost. Thank you again :)
Thank you for the video!!
This was excellently done! I'd love more videos of this type.
Love this two-part series, for once and as a historian I'm happy to see that pirates are shed the correct light, far from their stereotypical image and the fact that trained and disciplined military personnel often came on top, not the other way around (to be fair I really dislike the false idea of a pirate given to today's audience).
We can't be the pirate we are king jame kin lol lol John. John you heard me.
I love this series it is a slice of victorian life and history.
Mrs Crocombe!! I love getting the notifications for this!!
She did not paint her face white. Thats a myth. The paste was not as white as this color.
Smart pirates don't bury their treasure, they invest it, preferably in real estate.
😄No that's politicians
Finally a representation of the non-stereotypical image of pirates and their uneffective methods
Can we have a shout out for the actors please; they made these short videos about pirates and marines?
Well, I would rather take the King’s shilling as I would not want to be hung as a pirate. Need a healer on board a ship? Not a doctor but I have just about enough knowledge (for the 17th century that is) to take on that role.
Fine information, costuming, acting, and editing. English Heritage is creating another fascinating series.
Fascinating stuff and, I agree with others, the material is very well presented.
Awesome video 🏴☠️👌🏼🏴☠️
