I love seeing the progress on expanding the Sunrail service! There's so much potential for this area to enjoy excellent rail connectivity. I hope Floridians will adopt my new favorite mantra: "Less lanes, more trains."
This channel deserves much more publicity, always a great video!

The completion for this expansion is inching closer! I can’t wait!
Wow! The Autotrain seemed very long for late February. Thanks😀
Very calming to sit and listen to the Auto Train singing away..
Love your content! Relaxing to watch, can't wait to move back to Florida.
Loved the bipedal drone shot at 13:00. :P
I so LOVE new track!!🤩🛤️🤪
Took the Auto Train many times with my family. It's a relatively good service when it isn't late. I wish Amtrak could have more of those services in the United States. I guess the Louisville to Kentucky route didn't work out but I'm surprised there hasn't been done on the west coast considering how successful the Lorton, VA to Sanford, FL route is. Good video.
Cool I like your videos
Great video brother keep up the good work me and the kids always enjoy your videos especially how you kept up bright line very awesome
What you're doing here is really cool. I live in Pt Orange and visit this station every month or so to donate books to the sharing library in the Amtrak Station. You've answered all my questions on what the various projects were all about. I was sure that the Sun Rail passengers would share the Amtrak station as in Winter Park, but understand that this is better in case an Amtrak train is late.
Seeing the Auto Train again reminds me of when I took it with my parents back in the mid-2000s. Apparently, of all Amtrak’s long-distance services, the Auto Train comes the closest to breaking even.

The trains to Florida do break even most of the time. It isn't just Auto Train that does it. Problem is getting enough equipment at times.

The auto train actually makes money a decent amount of the time, it’s just a shame Amtrak I’d burdened with as many enormous loss-makers as it is
Another great video Austin see you Saturday
neat to see the P40's still in service.
Nicely Done !!! ... with car insurance been so inflated in Fl , rail road demand is a natural .
Thanks Austin. I wasn't able to get out there this month so it's great to see the expansion. Keep up the good work buddy.
Impressive! Greetings from Palm Beach Florida. Tri-Rail land
Thanks for covering the project! Great work as always!

Great documentary, thank you for your hard work making great videos for all the railfans!!
Great video as always. I hope you will consider tracking the BrightlineWest build but I get that it’s on the other side of the country.
Nice update. Coming along. I think I might take the Auto Train just because. Drive up to Sanford from Port Charlotte. Go explore DC for a couple days, and then return. Maybe after Labor Day.

Highly recommend the Auto Train. I-95 can be a pain. Have taken the service many times. It's my favorite Amtrak service.

@@mikemancini313 Same here. My last trip was a round trip in December. Trip North was fine but southbound we had a problem. So a freight got in front of us making us late getting in.

@@gravelydon7072 That's a common problem. Auto Train is great until CSX screws up or gets priority and then everyone gets late. However, the time schedule is great for the most part. I recall the service leaves around 3:30pm or 4pm and arrives in Sanford around 8am to 10am depending on how early or late it is. Most of the time, Amtrak does alright with getting the Auto Train on time. However, when it's bad, it can be really bad. Amtrak has made the headlines a few times for Auto Train's tardiness but these seem to be isolated instances. For the most part, it's a good service. I wish they would resurrect the Louisville, Kentucky route to Sanford Florida. They just need tracks that are not in poor condition.
Enjoyable video, thanks
Great video! As I recall there was planning at one point for mixed-use development near this station. Any chance there will be TOD in the near future?
Lol, nice to meet you at ridge live steamers. Thanks for the sunrail updates.
Cool you got the Auto Train! I have the Amtrak Auto Train in N-Scale and it’s got 16 passenger cars with 24 auto carrier cars. In total it’s 40 cars long!
Great video. Like me😁
Was this line ever double tracked south of DeLand?

I don’t know for sure, but based on the amount of grading they had to do, I doubt it.
Another cool video, curious as to why concrete ties weren't laid down and certain curves weren't realigned for future traffic and higher speeds.
@RoamingRailfan

All of Sunrail's existing track is wood ties and there are no plans for any speeds over 79mph which all these curves are good for.
What day did you film this? My wife and I were on the 2/20 autotrain and I captured video of the same segments under construction from our roomette that I’m putting together a review video for.

@@RoamingRailfan so not so far away from when we were on it. Is there any chance I might be able to use that footage for the video I’m putting together? I would gladly give you credit/a shout out for it.
Is there going to be overnight/ long term parking at the DeLand station?

What are you saying at 7:50? Cut and throw?
