It's kinda funny that here we are, 25 years after I first listened to SDRE, and aside from a few more wrinkles, a few more pounds, and a lot less hair, these guys are essentially the same. I love it! On a side note, I got crap for listening to them in highschool, and my wife gives me crap even today. 😂

Same! Only now the wife is gone and my GF loved the live show. (Though I doubt she'd listen on a regular basis 😁).

Or maybe Goldsmith learned from that experince what he didn’t want in a band experience? Read some interviews. Obvious why he moved on and back to working with Jeremy in The Fire Theft and SDRE.

Part of me still wishes i was old enough to have had the chance to see these guys when they first formed, but the fact that I was finally able to see them and for it to feel just like i was listening to them for the first time again was surreal. Seeing William completely decimate that kit on Seven was just as cool as Id always imagined.

William Goldsmith is by far my favorite drummer from the 90's. I've never heard a drummer "speak" like he does. The way he plays, he really interweaves the drums into the fabric of the song, rather than just provide the driving beat. SDRE would sound quite different with any other drummer, they are not a plug-and-play kind of band. The closest one to him I can think of is Zac Farro.

I totally agree. Both of them almost have a melodic quality to how they play, where the drums are very much a core part of the music.

They sound amazing, and play like they are out to show the beauty of these songs like never before. And to see them seemingly enjoying every second just makes it even more enjoyable
