How much time exposure? I’m using a similar , fast , resin printer like photon mono x and AMD3 resin is far to expensive but the good thing is it gives me 1.8 s expoaure time… does sunlu uses a higher exposure time?

@Marco Aurelio it honestly depends on what im printing. 1.8 works well, but if im printing 1/4 scale statues i use 3seconds to really help burn in the layers to prevent splitting.

Been using Sunlu for a few months now as other brands took a price hike, I have not used white as i have found in my five years of printing i have always had to mix white with something else to get decent results. Have used a lot of the beige/skin colour with nice results and also the gray. Jayo resin you can sometimes get as cheap and i believe it the same resin rebranded and even comes in the same container.

I've been using sunlu Black standard for 2 years and it's my favourite resin for static objects, the quality is great. It's brittle but just as brittle as the elegoo or the anycubic resin, but waaaay more cheaper. It's super easy to clean, however it smells strong... what I have notice is the darker the resin, the better the details (on any resin brand). I have a video in my yt channel of a Gi Joe collectible figure and a Matrix sentinel that i have printed with the sunlu black in case you want to see how that resin behaves. Nice review :) new sub!

I've been using their water washable grey, and it's worked great, very quick curing so lower times than my phrozen resins or it does over expose and lose detail, so yay for quicker prints. Overall it is a bit lacking on some super fine texture and details for an 8k printer, but for the majority of prints I do at 32mm or even 28mm scale it works fine. Most bigger things it's plenty detailed for as well. Now, if I'm doing something for a painting showpiece or such I'll still get the 8k resin out, but honestly most STLs out there don't have that level of fine texture and detail to really need that resolution, some do, but most don't. So for most printing purposes, it's just cheaper and often easier to work with.

I just bought 4kg of Sunlu ABS-like in black for £64. I print chassis for 1/32 Scalextric cars and the ABS-like resin delivers the right amount of strength and impact resistance. The standard resin is too brittle. Tolerances are important (screw holes need to be accurate) and with my Anycubic Mono X 6Ks this resin is perfect for an application that sees the product shoot down tracks at 5m/s and occasionally crash without damage.

The darker the resin the crispier the details are. Ofc exposure play a role too, but white is normal to have a smoother surface. If you want crisp details go with black or a mix of black and grey. So the any cubic grey will be crispier than a white version of the same.

@@greedy3d480 yeh, the color of the resin give different result. But its important to note, like you mentioned on the video, that also viscosity and colors does make a difference, because the time that the uv take to burn the layer will differ (i.e the light will travel trough the resin in a different manner), a densier resin will take more time thus you have a different result. Its VERY important, probably the most important thing, to make the exposure test (i reccomend the cone) alongside an acceptable temperature, because few degrees of temp will vary the exposure time as well (the resin in the cold tend to be more dense,, in the warm more fluid). Put this way, you get the best result when you have the best exposure time of your resin including the ambient temperature as well. You underexpose and it will fail, you overexpose and you got 'inflated' result (like the white in your test). Btw i bought sunlu grey today with a mars 3 pro cos my old mars 2 died (i was tempted by the mono x2, but i gave up because my mars 2 was decent with statues i do the extra volume on the 3 with the great pixel density will be, i hope, perfect). I already tried the old sunlu version (with the metal bottle) in skin and black and they were great.

Definitely the Resins fault. Printing my calibration. With Sunlu, it doesn’t matter what exposure time you use. The holes never print. Total garbage for anything detailed.
