We have had ours since 2019 and use it to fire up the coffee maker in the morning as well as watch TV and videos, charge phones etc. in the evening so we don't have to turn on our generator when we are RVing and off-grid. We have used it over 100 times and it just keeps going strong. The most important thing is the coffee maker and the heating blanket that we run all night so we don't have to have the heater cranked. It runs both sides of the blanket and takes about 20% of its power to do so. We recharge it with solar or even easier, we plug it into our ac outlets in our truck when we go sightseeing or to town for supplies and we get back and it's normally ready for another night. It has been one of my best purchases and I brag on it all the time.

@George Planter A generator and a power bank are completely different, a generator is a device that converts motive power "mechanical energy" into electrical power for use in an external circuit. Where these Portable battery banks store a charge depending on battery capacity. An MPPT is a power point tracker, it's an electronic DC to DC converter that optimizes the match between the solar array (PV panels), and the battery bank or utility grid, . These power banks use an external means to collect energy why? Because they do not creat energy. These power banks require a solar panel. Solar panels use sunlight as a source of energy to generate direct current electricity. Get it now? Batteries = MPPT = Solar Panels= Power

Nice review. Further to my previous comment. I am building a campervan and have plans to buy a chest freezer (circa 55 litres) and convert it into a fridge which has advantages because of the greater insulation of freezers and the power saving as the compressor will work far less frequently than a dedicated fridge. As I understand it here in the UK we work on 240 volts and you need an inverter to convert 12volt DC power from the battery to AC power as used by the freezer unit compresssor. Does this power station incorporate an inverter capable of performing this function? You also need an external thermostat to set and regulate the internal temperature attached to a small sensor suspended in the void of the fridge. It seems to work efficiently and there are a few KZread videos as testament.

I agree on both of what you said. Any test that tells you it guarantees long term use isn't real. Even if I started the compressor 1000 times that doesn't mean it will last 10 years. Hopefully this will be very long lasting but these are good points but at least if your initial cost is lower you are risking less long term.

But always do more research on it before buying.

Interesting the cost seems like it is worth it, but you didn't mention if the solar is a separate buy sometimes it is which sucks also while it doesn't have a charge time you probably could have gotten it from the maximum charging capacity for the solar and a bit of math. Or just testing it out on multiple days sunny and cloudy and get the average. That way we could get a general idea of charge time. Also the charge time for outlet. But all in all a good review of the product, don't know why you had to drive around to test it out but the compressor start does kill a lot of them so good job there.

I was very surprised, I actually thought this one would burn out trying to run big stuff. Very few units can successfully start a AC compressor like that and this did it over and over without fail. Not a lot of extras with this unit but many people just want the power and don't care about apps, 12 outlets, and extra displays, etc.

Why do you call this device a "generator"? It generates nothing. It is a big storage battery same as the battery in you vehicle or flashlight...just bigger. At least you didn't call it a "solar generator" as some do.

It's what the product says it is not what the KZreadr is saying. It's possible to have an electric generator without seeing it in person I will hold off on commenting
