I watched this movie when I was four years old and it completely changed my life. I was born into a non-amritdhari family but religious family. I was very close to Sikhi from a young age, but never thought of tying a dastaar until I was saw this movie in theaters. Sundri changed my whole view on Sikhi, that men and women will always be equal, and that includes in wearing a keshki. I saw the beauty of Sundri and begged my parents to let me be as beautiful as she was and I began tying a dastaar. Everyone morning my mother would adorn me with a dastaar, chola, and kirpan to wear to school. Unfortunatly, I was the only person in my American school to wear a dastaar and recieved some bullying, so I removed my dastaar. That is a decision I heavily regret to this day, but I hope that I can start to once again very soon. This movie truly changed the entire course of my life and for that I am eternally grateful. I do own multiple DVD's of this film, but I am glad it is on youtube for more people to see. I encourage you to show your young ones this movie, especially young girls who in today's society may forget what true beauty really is. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.🙏

I have a similar story to you except I had to learn how to tie a dastar myself and I started wearing it now when I turned 17. I was too young when I watched this movie so I forgot it, but there will be good and bad people who either encourage us or discourage us it is up to us who we listen to! I wish you all the best in tying a dastar!
