Is this box good for 2 12 sdr skar

I was watching this in my room,went outside to back up my truck on the cement becuase it was raining..i had no clue my phone connected to my radio and i was hearing the fwd noises from about the 4:00minute mark….i thought my truck was messing up😅😅😅😒

Which sa series is the best ? I looked and these many series x z n not sure which to chose. I just want 1 12" thats the best bang for your buck. And does the box have to be big? I want trunk space still.

The better SA is the V.2 series, but the classic is still really good. Both subs take the same tuning and box size. The V.2 just holds more power, 1000 rms, compared to 750 rms with the SA Classic. Depending on how much bass you actually want, either sub should perform very well in a trunk car setup. As for size, both subs take 1.75 cubic ft per sub.

What’s the port wind speed? Also would this work for 2 v3’s in the back of a 97 accord? The max height in the back I can really do is 15” and 40 wide 22” long

The port velocity is 26m/s with the rated power for both subs at 1500 rms. If you add more power than rated, the velocity will go above 30m/s and you may hear a little nosie. This design was made to fit mostly any car. It should fit right in with no problem. Also the design will work for the SA classic and the new V.2 as well. The only difference is the cutout holes.

I think I used maple for this one, because they were out of birch.

They are for extra bracing but it won't hurt anything much.

Yeah it should work pretty good for the SVR subs. They take the same airspace, port size and tuning. The hole cutouts may be different, thats all.

Well, that sounds like a challenging build. But not many people are asking for those lately. I would be happy to build you one. But shipping built truck boxes can get quite expensive, with their weight and size. If someone asks me for that exact box, I will be sure to film it for ya and post it. Thanks. Sundown has the box specs listed on their website for any of their subs. They recommend 1.75 cubes ported, tuned to 35 hz. With 26 inches square port area.

Really need one of these boxes made I have 2 new 12" sundown audios sa v2 D4 seeing what you built I'd be happy to get a box from you

Would this be able to fit in a 2007 Honda civic with two 12invh skar audio ....

The math says this box dimension is a little over 6 cubic feet. But jl audios site recommends 2.5 cubic feet for two 12s. Can u explain ??

Those are sundown not jl I believe the smallest enclosure is 5 cubic feet but 6 wouldn't hurt them just tune it low and adjust your subsonic filter

Just wondering if the specs of this build would work for slightly smaller subs like 2 JL audio w0v3 12s

If I have 2sundown x12v3 an each sub requires 2.5 cubic per sub would I need a5.0 cubic feet box or ?????

Well yeah that partly right. The box will prob end up being 7 or 8 cubes gross. With port, subs and displacements taken out, it will drop back down around 5 cubes or so. That also depends on how you tune it. The lower the tuning the larger the box will need to be. Box and baffle bracing are also recommended for those subs.

Hey bro love that box. I currently have the same subs with a ok custom box a guy made for me . I said this spring I was going to give it a try . Never done it before but I said I would give it a shot. Question what was that box tuned too and also do you have any more pictures of the inside of it if you have any?

Well they would do pretty good, but they require a bigger box, and a slightly bigger port. You could better performance from a larger lower tuned box. The new SA subs require less air space than the version 1 did. The AB sub needs 2 to 2.5 cubes per sub and the SA is 1.75 per sub

I think it was $175 and yeah it's pretty much the same. Its a gel cell battery and can be installed under the hood.

The box specs are the same for both. The box in the video was made alot deeper, because the car had plenty of room. It saved some extra work on the box. The air space, the port size and length are the same. The box that was built was just made deeper so the ports didn't have to be bent. The design at the end was made to fit in almost any car. So the box is the same it was just resized to be deeper for a larger car. Congrats on being the first one to call that out.

Went to the audio shop and they are asking for $425 for dual ported custom made box for me SA12’s. Really really debating if I should try this myself. Price doesn’t sit well with me especially if people are actually making them by hand out of wood lol

Well normally for that same box I do 275-300, raw sanded wood. Carpet or stain would be extra, but I can also sell you a design perfect for you car and subs. So lmk if your interested, message me over on IG: at s.overtron, and we can discuss the details further.

It should fit in there, that car has a decent size trunk. I'm pretty sure that box will fit. Just tack together the outside shell with a few screws and do a test fit to make sure first.

Awesome man, I tried to make it so it would fit in multiple cars, with a few exceptions. Glad it fits right. A jigsaw is ok to cut holes, just draw the circle straight and use a good blade.

Well making the port smaller will change the tuning, the square port area and the air space in the box. Which will throw off quite alot of things. Message me on IG: s.overtron and we can discuss the box a little more.
