A fantastic day out on Y Garn, having teamed up with 3 other speedflyers to share the fun. Finally mild wind for proximity flying!!! :)
Жүктеу.....

Thank you! Downsized to the Swing Mirage 2 RS 13 from the Level Flame 16 last year... adds further excitement... but still not crazy! (yet...!)

If anyone by any chance knows who the photographer at 04:40 is, please PM me. Date was 19 Dec, time 13:39 on the Y Garn trail.

Looks great. How long did it take to climb up each time?

I think it was between 45 - 60 minutes. Good exercise for fairly little airtime, I know... but the flying is incredible and definitely worth it!

Wonderful lines ! What is your setup for that kind of wind noise reduction ?

Thanks! I use a GoPro Hero 7 with a foam wind cover purchased off Amazon. It helps tremendously but I think I need to turn off the GoPro wind filter for best results.

That's a long flight. The least they could do is serve lunch halfway through.

This seems to be slower than other flyer videos. Is this due to a larger wing size. Just learning about speed flying so I don’t know my a** from a hole in canopy.

Yup... size DOES matter! It's a 16 sqm wing whereas the insanely fast clips are normally between 9 - 6.5 sqm. I'm moving down to a 13sqm now but I still have a lot to learn before even beginning to contemplate anything smaller...

Wow, do you carry an medical kit and some food with you?

With my paraglider, I carry all of that... but for the speedflying/miniwing, I only take a bit of food and water. With speedflying, you know where you are going to land and the flight is only a few minutes whereas with paragliding cross-country things are less predictable. I always carry my Garmin InReach though.
