The unfortunate truth is, most people don’t need anything more than a Denon 3800. The 11.4 speaker assignments make this unit expandable, future-proofed, and packed with the same features as an AV10, just with four less speakers. People want to hear there are unique features the AV10 brings to their system beyond the 15.4 capability, but the price difference between those units can be applied to way more night/day differences than the differences between those units alone, assuming no more than 11 speakers. I don’t have more than 9 speakers in any of my setups, but I still have FOMO knowing the AV10 is available. This hobby is more psychological than it is objective comparisons… sucks!

Such an interesting point by Jonathan about the jump from 5.1.2 to 7.1.4 not being a huge one nowadays due to better mixing. Makes me feel better about my current goal - a 5.2.2 setup. 7 channel AVRs with dual sub-outs are also reasonably priced.

I think the Onyko Rz50 is the best choice. You guys didn't mention that it comes with Dirac. You don't pay four hundred or more to add like the Denon.

I have an idea for the blind testing at MWAVE. I think it would be great to have a Denon X3800H in the mix. It got a lot of heat for having a "worse" SINAD than the older models with the AKM DAC chips. I bet no-one will be able to tell a difference between it and DACs with better SINAD

Agree good dacs These days are beyond human hearing. But as always if you have 5-10 diffrent Things that play just a tad better or precise. Then in the sum you may very well hear something. But then again 99.9÷ of rooms have problems that if solved would have a way bigger impact.

have the ioata which is a tonewinner with diffrent label i think. The ioata does everything u need. but the build in mic based correction setup is useless. You would need to calibrate the entire system yourself. It offers PEQs so you can just buy a Mic and start playing with it. But the build in mic will kill your sound. It sucks and iam pretty sure no matter what u do, the solution is plain bad. That is no problem for me, since i calibrate myself anyway. No dirac, trinnov, etc solution can outdo a calibration done right. An algorith cant take your room into the equation like a human can ( atleast not yet )

@@FURognar it support up to 9.4.4 or 7.4.6 but it has 15 xlr outputs for speakers so you can have 15 speakers ( + 4 subs ) connected and change in the menu between the 2 layouts depending on your source material

I agree with you guys so much on your topic. I think a lot depends on a person's pocket book. I think we would all love to have that million dollar Star Wars type theater. We just can't. I think prices are not fair to the consumer. How can any company say hey here is a receiver with basically everything you need for $1000 ish with low power or here is the same thing minus power at double or triple the price. WTF?🤔💬 You're charging me more and I still have to provide the power? Crazy!!🤬 Why won't they turn it around? Give me a fair price for a capable unit and let me provide the amplifiers I want with the power I need so the price doesn't get crazy? Answer they don't care what you want. They want the money!!

@@Youthman definitely not needed. I've never heard of anyone implementing them. I think the only processors capable of it are the Storm and the Trinnov. But capability exists.
