Nice video. Felt a little different from other recent videos which are a bit formulaic. You seem to really dig these. I’m sure it’s less frequent for you these days, but probably the best thing about this hobby is when you get something new that either lives up to the hype or goes beyond and blows you away. Seems like these speakers may have done that for you, or at least that’s impression I got from the review.

Fabulous video Shane. I've auditioned these speakers once before and after hearing them once, I knew they'd be the ones for my dedicated theater. The VESA 100 mount is an interesting idea. Thank you for pointing out the Phoenix connecter. I didn't think the 6 and 6 wedge used them but instead used binding post. The phoenix connector would be a deal breaker for me as I am using 12 AWG in wall cabling.

Several months later, my Ascendo speakers are installed. My installer used VESA mounts on the LCR and the 6’s are in an enclosure mounted in the walls. The Phoenix connector was not a factor as I thought it would be. To say these are phenomenal is an understatement. Very happy with them

Shane, Great watching your journey to perfection. What drew me to M&K S150s 20 years ago was their great reproduction of audio for movies...and the bass. I recently added their on wall MP-150s. Now 20 years later maybe its time for a change? Ascendo looks NICE! I also love the wife acceptance factor of the low profile mounting. How do you mount Atmos wedges to the ceiling and allow them to be aimed easily?

Hi Shane, I enjoyed the video. This, on wall mid/high + sub setup is similar to the Steinway Lyngdorf/Lyngdorf Audio’s philosophy. One difference is the Lyngdorf sub placement (dual opposing subs in the front corner, at 45 degrees - or subs facing the front walls). I currently own a Lyngdorf system with traditional floor standing speakers and a single sub, thus I am unable to benefit from all of their system advantages. I would be curious if you were try placing your subs towards the front wall. Take care.

Great speakers. Love the slim design and coax drivers. The only for me here is was lack of real binding posts. Not sure what the thought was here. Most folks who have dedicated spaces are running 12 gauge out of sheer upgradeability. Price is a bit hefty per speaker but I would definitely consider these.

Hi, thank you very much for the great video. Maybe you can help me out: I'm also planning the Ascendo for my home theater. The room is only 4,71m (L) x 3,65m (W) x 2,85 (H). Which Ascendo would you recommend? Is “the 6” enough as an LCR or would you take “the 10” ? Of course there are 1-2 subs. And would you use “the 6” as the rear, or would “the 5” be enough? Are “the 6” actually suitable as heights, or are “the 6edge” recommended? And how did you mount the Ascendo LCR behind the screen? Did you mount the speakers "in-wall" or do you use a motorized screen? Thank you very much in advance.

Shane, I got into GoldenEar XL sub and their SuperCinema 3D after your review. Added some rear SuperSats for a nice little 5.1 living room friendly (WAF) theater. I'm curious since you have reviewed a lot of "on walls" lately. Don't really want to "start over" and want to add some SuperSat 60s for the front 3 and replace the 3D. (About all the "theater" I can get away with.) Ascendos seem great, looks? not so much for what I can get away with. So, of all the low-profiles, which did you prefer and is there anything I'd be giving up with the 60s knowing they're just double the 3D array? (talking 75db MAX at a 10' listening for about 300sf room. Neighbors... Sigh...) GREAT REVIEWS BTW!!

Thank you Shane. I have just sold my M&K S150 Mk2 speakers because I need "More" in my large room. I'm a bit surprised and query the crossovers being set at 100Hz. Do you start to experience localisation at that point? What most interests me with this brand is the precision and detailed articulation people describe. Too often the focus of power, volume, bass etc is the focus of reviews and the loss of the subtle detail isn't mentioned. A demo I like to use is Bladerunner 2049 (UHD) opening scene - fly over, then the boiling pot and creaking floor/walking to assess detail.

@@therealshanelee Thanks for the reply Shane. I am considering upgrading my bed layer to 5 x Kef R6 Meta. Already have KEF Non Meta R11, R2C, R3 & 2 x Arendal 1723 1s subs and Denon AVC-A1H. I will sell the R11, R2C, R3's as the R11 & R3 are crossed over at 100hz in my room for best bass response at main listening position. My logic on the R6 is same drivers as the R11 but without the ported towers taking over the room. The R6 Tweeter, Mid & Bass drivers are identical to those found in the new R Meta series just lacking 2 bass drivers. Based on the specs the R6 should be awesome down to 80hz and let the subs do the rest. No ports to worry about and sealed cabinet should allow better positioning in my room. The last plus is the R6 should be a significant upgrade over the R2C. Have you heard any of the above yet? Kefs positioning of the R6 as a bed-layer speakers is something missed by the few people talking about the new R Metas.

If they were a beautiful cabinet and active with a 300w plate amp, OK... but like the B&W 15 passive sub + 1000w power amp at around $3400 together, some product are very overpriced.. that's sound you spend $1000 for the cabinet ONLY...
