This crochet bum bag gives all the boho summer festival vibes! It's super quick and easy to work up, using 4 sunburst or starburst granny squares. Ones you sew them up, you shape the bag more so you don't have to add a zipper to keep all your belongings inside. The rounds of granny clusters at the top really add visual interest without adding much in time or materials.
In this video, I also show you how my trick for adding a professional looking liner without worrying about your sewing machine eating your crochet piece. It also saves a ton of time and requires very little sewing skills. I have never had my liners come out after attaching them this way, nor has a customer ever complained about their bag liner coming out.
This bag has also already proven to be a best selling item for me, selling the instant I post on social media. I fully intend to make a large quantity for my upcoming craft fairs and vendor markets. I have no doubt they will sell like hot cakes! I recommend selling them for a minimum of $50 if you line them.

Supplies Needed
-Approx. 350-375 yds. of any size 4 ww yarn, in at least 4 colors. I'm using Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek in the colors Mustard, Brownie, and Bruschetta, as well as I Love This Yarn in the color Linen.
-Size 5.5 mm hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
-1 25 mm wooden bead or large button of choice
-Piece of cardboard 4 in. wide, or tassel maker
-Scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker, tape measure
Gauge
Motif diameter should measure approx 4.5" after completing rounds 1-3.
Finished Measurements
Each motif should measure close to 7" after completing rounds 1-5. Finished bag should measure approx. 13.5" x 8". Strap should measure approx. 41.5" in length.

I love your comment. I could totally relate to what you said! This is such a cute pattern. I would like to make it. The colors are my favorite, and remind me of the 70’s. I learned to crochet from my friend’s mother when I was in about the 5th or 6th grade. I started with a sc scarf, which grew wider and wider! I am 68 and was born in 1955. I crochet a lot now and do a little knitting, which I couldn’t do when younger because I kept dropping stitches with straight needles. Circular needles are SO much better! I decorated my bedroom in orange and yellow when I was about 13 yo. I made a valance that was all big “flower power” flowers. I sang the song “ Band of Gold” which came on the radio about every half hour while painting my walls yellow! Mini skirts and go-go boots! 🥰🧶💕🌼

I am 61 crocheting since 11-12 and also learned granny squares from my mother. I made blankets with big granny squares and got bored with them. Your video has sparked me to try this purse, I guess I didn’t see any good tutorials until now. Excellent and clear visually and excited to try this, great job!

@@kathleenmckenna8578 thank you so much! There's so much you can do with granny squares, actually! I've got a knot bag tutorial coming (hopefully) 8/25 and I made it with these same squares. I've added them to flip flops and added ties for up the calf. I've glued them to tech cases to hold ear buds. I've turned them into clutch bags. They are so much fun!

This is a REALLY pretty Sling bag- gift ot festival / otherwise. I can imagine it with even brighter pink & turquoise colors I love this bag- but your SUNBURST Knot bag- has a more vivid color landscape & that is another FAV!!

Nicely done. Soothing voice makes you want to watch and learn. Quite a few of us older ladies still like to learn. Worked behind a professional sewing machine for 18 years, became a nurse for 30 years and crocheted and continued to sew and quilt. All in all I prefer the fiber arts, and love making gifts for family and friends. Thank you for sharing your talent.

I started crocheting at the age of 9 yrs.old.When I'm in grade-IV.My teacher in Elementary Grades gaves me an assigned project center piece.Then,until now I'm Senior(60 yrs.old)citizen here in Philippines,and I'm having fun of crocheting bags,shawl,center piece and braletteline two piece.
