Awesome! I’d love to hear what you thought or made of sun ra’s music and various teachings.. at times I felt sun ra was unbelievable, outrageous and then Shakespearean and mystical. I particularly love the climax of this movie, the show you guys put on was amazing and enthralling.

This is just genius! The music and spoken word! It makes so much sense and we still in 2024

I t was wonderful and mystical being exposed to that type of ancient Egyptian experience. He prepared me for Egypt. I have a of resumw. As muchA member of the family. When I had my 3rd. Conference Roots on our music is world music, we screened the film, "Jackie McClean on Mars". It featured Sun Ra, at a time when McClean chaired the U Conn Jazz Department and was able to host jazz artists. I had just taken the course " Black music" taught by Dean Olly(Alii). He introduced me to the cinema Aspect of segregated black musicianship, but also to Dr. Eileen Southern's Harvard doctorate, the music of Black Americans. The complete theme of that conference was , Our Music-Parent, Teacher, Healer, Pdiest, and liberator. It was recorded visually and audiolly. Much of it was performed and not transcibable. If some one wanted to help, the Roots, Validation movement can get those materials or go to the Archives at kroeber hall. The Bay area exposed to much arts and scholarship for example, Marye Conde of Segu, Alice waller and Alice Coletrane.
